Lois's Love
Lois: "But now it's my turn." Ned: "Your turn? For what?"
Lois: "To tell you all the reasons why you make me happy."
Ned: "You agreed to marry me-I think that just about says it all."
Lois: "Are you going to deprive me of this simple little pleasure?"
Ned: "My heart says yes but my ego is a little curious."
Lois: "Well it's not some grand list or anything like that. Just a few things that have been crystallized for me over the past few months. Like something happened on our second honeymoon." Ned: " I thought this was our second honeymoon." Lois: "No this is our second second. Our first second was when you took me on the jet to that yacht. You know you said you'd done a favor for some guy and now he owed you?"
Ned: "Yeah, you sure you want to dredge this up?
Lois: "No, it's gonna be good, okay? I promise you. You pulled out this piece of paper right? It was a prenuptial agreement. You offered me half of everything you had and at the time I didn't know what that meant because I just thought you were Eddie Maine pharmaceutical salesman - but when I found out - when I realized what you were really offering me, I couldn't help but wondering why. But now I think I know because somewhere deep inside of you, you didn't believe that you could be loved without all the Quartermaine wealth as part of the package."
Ned: "The offer still stands." Lois: "So does my answer. You don't have to do that Ned. You deserve to be loved completely and unconditionally. If I weren't capable of giving that to you all the money in the world wouldn't change that. You are worth so much beyond your name, your wealth and your position. I am so honored to be the woman you've chosen to share your heart.
Lois: "You know, once upon a time I thought it was impossible to love anyone more than I loved Eddie Maine but I was wrong because I love Ned Ashton so much more, for the rest of my life. All I want is exactly who you are. Oh no! Now I made you sad!
Ned: "No, what this is is happiness beyond my wildest dream." |
