(Ned and Lois have just arrived home from Brenda's birthday party at Luke's and are sitting on the bed talking)

Lois: "As a composer, say you're Miguel right? And Lily's been your inspiration ever since you've been writing love songs. And all of a sudden everything's just gone bluey. What do you do now?"

Ned: "Start writing the blues."

Lois: "Well, okay. That's not so bad."

Ned: "Until the next romantic muse comes along anyways."

Lois: "And muses are that easy to come by, huh?"

(Ned chuckles)

Ned: "You asked me to speak for Miguel!"

Lois: "So speak for yourself."

Ned: "Oh well I'm strictly a one muse man. In fact, I'm feeling inspiration coming on as we speak."

(Ned and Lois start kissing as the scene ends for a commercial. When it returns, Ned and Lois are laying at opposite ends of the bed facing each other after having made love)

Lois: "Oh what an impressive couple we are."

Ned: "What have we done now?"

Lois: "We found our way back together. If you think about all the obstacles we had to overcome."

Ned: "I try to avoid that."

Lois: "The point is here we are, happy as clams and if we can do it so can Lily and Miguel. Then again what if they can't do it? Do you think we're gonna lose Miguel as an artist?"

Ned: "Why would we?"

Lois: "Well what if he decides to chuck Port Chuck and go back to Puerto Rico?"

Ned: "Hmm. Oh, I don't think that'll happen. But even if it does, you still have The Idle Rich. On a limited basis of course but still viable and then there's Mary Mae, who's got lots of potential. And never underestimate your incredible talent for spotting and promoting new talent. No even if Miguel does leave, you, my miraculous wife, will do just fine."

Lois: "Your faith in me is truly moving."

Ned: "With your talent and money there's nothing you can't do."

Lois: "Oh no! Not the money again!"

Ned: "I know it makes you nervous but it won't hurt. I promise."

(Ned crawls over to Lois' side and lays beside her)

Lois: "Everything would be so perfect if you didn't come with all this money for baggage. You know it...it just distorts everything. I mean real life isn't what you Quartermaines do every day."

Ned: "Well technically I'm an Ashton."

Lois: "Nice try son of Tracy."

Ned: "You just approach it from the wrong angle. Try not to think of it as a corrupting thing. Think of it as a way of making other people's dreams come true. A way of making deserving talent get the exposure it wouldn't otherwise."

Lois: "You're really good at justifying your own dough, aren't you?"

(Ned kisses Lois)

(Ned kisses Lois again)

Lois: "That's sweet. And I really appreciate your offer. I really, really do and I hope you don't see it as prickly or ungrateful when I say that I can't accept it because if I did I would feel like I was cheating, you know? Like I wasn't earning my own way anymore. I mean L&B is me and Brenda, you know? I mean it started as this little idea in our minds and it turned into this bustling little entity, and it's not because somebody wrapped it up in a big red bow and handed it to us. It's because we worked our tails off and we made it happen and that makes me proud, you know? It makes me feel like I did something. Just wouldn't feel right taking your money. Do you understand?"

Ned: "I do."

Lois: "However I reserve the right to change my mind at any time."

(Lois kisses Ned)

Lois: "Okay?"

Ned: "Okay"
