13 Months After First Night Together While on the Tour From Hell, Ned and Lois have just escaped to the hotel room from a mob of screaming fans. Lois: "Oh my! Lock the door!" Ned: "Well, that was exciting!" Lois: "We're getting rid of those leather pants!" Ned: "I don't know about that. I've grown rather attached to these leather pants."
Lois: "Yeah, you and about half the female population in New York State! From now on I'm having you perform in red flannel and baggy jeans."
Ned: "Fine. I love a challenge, remember? 13 months ago, right downstairs, in the bar of this very hotel. You challenged me to sing with the Idle Rich and look what happened. Bring on the flannel-I can handle anything!"
Lois: "Pretty sure of yourself aren't you, Ashton?"
Ned: "No and that's why I had to hide behind Eddie Mine all those months. Do you recall how hard you had to work to convince me that I could make it as a singer?" Lois: "You know, I hope the guys got to their rooms okay because-" Ned: "I'll never forget that night. I was still high from the crowd's reaction and from your reaction. But I went up to my room thinking, 'Well, that's it!' Tomorrow I'd wake up and I'd be Ned Ashton, no more Eddie Maine. And then you came to my door and you knocked. My God, is this the same room? Could be. You walked in here talking a mile a minute. I couldn't get a word in edgewise and I was mesmerized. That face, voice, those wonderful, wacky nails and then we ended up..." (he looks at the bed) "You always did have a way with words, Lois Marie."
Lois: "You know if you want to order room service, if you're hungry, we should probably do that now because we don't want to risk having to go back out there again." Ned: "I'd rather stay here anyway. This is where it all began. Maybe it's where we're supposed to begin again." (They're standing very close by now, looking into each other's eyes. Lois looks like she's starting to crack, allowing herself to hear when they're interrupted by a knock at the door.)
