In today's society, I think we, as adults, seem to overlook how our actions either by words or lack of, physical contact positive or negative, basically anything we do affect our children. Being a mother of two and at one point a single mother for 9/10 years I understand how rather you are married or single it is important that we stop and think before we speak or strike at our children. We brought them into this world to love and protect and even if we are having a rough time financially or in our marriage it isn't their fault and we must protect them at all times. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of these mother's who doesn't believe in discipline, I think that for us to change the way society as we know it today we not only have to discipline, but we also have to show more love and there are days when we don't have love in us to give, but we need to find it from somewhere within us especially if we have children and let them know no matter what they are loved deeply as well as respected. Those things are also shown with actions. I hope everyone who visits this link is moved as deeply as I was as well as stop and think - could my child think that of me - and at any point you feel the answer to that question is yes - go and love your child and let them know how very much you love them now and always. We are not perfect - we are only human, but at times I feel, as I'm sure many other mother's feel, that I'm expected to be more than human and it can be hard to bare at most times. Bottom line - love and respect your children and they in turn will love and respect you!!
