		The mission of North Florida Great Dane Rescue Group is to take in, whether from a previous owner, an Animal control or other rescue group, or simply stray, Great Dane dogs. We provide these Great Danes with love, food, shelter, and appropriate medical attention, including immunizations, heartworm testing and treatment, spaying or neutering, and euthanasia if necessary. We find homes for these Great Danes in Florida and Georgia with approved families who will love their adopted Great Dane for life. We provide educational support to the people who adopt these Great Danes, so that they may successfully integrate their new family member. We educate people, including children, dog breeders, other rescue organizations, and members of the general public, about the special needs of Great Dane dogs, the responsibilities of dog ownership, and the importance of spaying and neutering. You may reach us at 904-813-6709 or northfloridadanerescue@yahoo.com North Florida Great Dane Rescue Group (NFGDRG) was organized in January 2008 to serve the North Florida area. The group is newly formed and will be applying for a charitable tax-exemption under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code within the next few weeks. NFGDRG is staffed completely by volunteers. Like all humane groups, NFGDRG is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. NFGDRG helps people to: � Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle. � Find healthy and companionable Danes that fit their circumstances. � Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep. � Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes. � Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem. � Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet. � Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters. NFGDRG helps Danes: � By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. � We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. � We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. � We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.
