| Taking care of a frog depends on if you have an aqua frog or land frog. An aqua frog stays in water while a land frog goes in and out of water. Which do you have? -Aqua Frog- Stays in the water for life. It should never be removed or played with. These frogs still need oxygen so every now and then they will go up and get some. It is very important that you leave a space between the top of the tank so oxygen can get through. Aqua frogs can vary from size depending on the kind it is. The African Dwarf Frog gets no bigger than 2 inches while the African Clawed(or Albino)Frog gets to 5 inches. -Land Frog- A land frog needs oxygen and will come out of the water to get some. (this information includes tree frogs too.) If you have a tree frog it is a good idea you have something for it to climb. Maybe two plants so it can jump from one to the other. Land frogs can be handle but be cautious as for some of them can be posinous. Always wash your hands after touching any frogs. Land frogs love to hop so be careful not to lose it! Land frogs have been know to escape from their tanks. To prevent this make sure the lid is on tight so the frogs can't push it off. Otherwise you may find a dried out dusty frog in your house. |
