Seattle Quake 2001

Dateline: 2/28/01 ~
Earthquake? Where?!! I know... I was just as shocked, if not more,
than all of you who were there to witness the melee. I can honestly
say that for once, I was glad to be in Pullman. Ugh. Thankfully, the
damages were minor, the injuries few, and from what I know, no fatalities.
Thank the Lord for working in such merciful ways! My Dad was at work
downtown when the quake hit, and since he has access to a digital camera, he
went to work shooting some photos of the natural disaster. Here's a few of
them, along with his comments. (By the way, the website stayed up the
whole time.. Go Amazon.com!)

"Photo 1 is view into my
office (on left) and my manager's office. Photo 2 is closer look in my
office. The tall book case fell over onto my desk. Photo 3 (below)
is water damage down the hall."

"Photo 13 (above) is
from the north parking lot looking back at building north elevation. This
was taken more than three hours after the event. The personnel are still
waiting to get their coats, keys and computers, so they can go home (or back to
work!)"

"Photo 14 (above) is of the
south elevation of the building, west side of tower. At the tower upper
floor area you can see a broken window. Photo 15 (below) is east side of
tower view , You can see diagonal then vertical crack in the brick veneer.
My office would be one floor down and two windows to the right."
"As they like to
say at Amazon: "Rock and Roll!!'"
