| On September 3rd 1997 Trans World Airlines Flew Thier Last Flight With The Lockheed L-1011 From LAX (Flt 840 Aircraft 11006) To JFK Airport Where The Aircraft Will Be Prepared To Be Sent To The Bone Yard. Congratulations To All Those Technicians Who Spent Many Hours Keeping These Aircraft Safe And Airworthy |

| These pictures below are what has become of the TWA L-1011's that were retired to the desert in 1997, Currently the engines and any useable parts that can be sold are being stripped from these aircraft daily. What used to be the PRIDE of TWA's fleet has now become TWA's discarded junk, I guess we all have to resolve to the old addage "Out With The Old And In With The New". |
