The Cries of a silent heart

A small cry that is faint to the ear,
Silently screaming out in the night.
Wanting to be heard but just one time,
Not knowing how much more she can fight.

Why does my heart ache for her,
Why do I find it hard to swallow?
Why am I fighting back the tears,
Why do I feel so hallow?

She doesn't say a word,
Yet I can hear her heart's cry.
Watching tender years slipping on by.
Knowing her spirit has started to die.

I asked the Lord,
Why can I hear her cry when she hasn't said a word?
He looked down upon me and said,"My child,
At one time Your heart cried out and wasn't heard."
