Not Alone

Lost and scared, huddled in the corner,
Trying to hide from whats to come.
Praying to hear a familar voice,
Sitting in silence, hearing no one.

Staring at the stars up high,
"Jesus, are you there?"
Will you come and be my friend,
Do you have some time to spare?

I heard a voice come from afar,
"My Dear child, I am with you"
I know your days are full of fear,
You are not alone, for we are two.

I closed my eyes,
And tears continue to flow.
Warmth covers over my body,
I see your face, a beautiful glow.

I hold that picture close to my heart
Through the days that are so hard.
I know that I am not alone,
For your angels are standing guard.
