There are many possible effects that abuse can have on a person, and among any group of survivors there always are people who will react in totally different ways, that at first can seem to contradict each other.  I am unable to list all the effects due to there are many possibilities.  The following list is just a list and some may apply to you or it may not.
Fear of other people
Anger
Fear of the Dark
Unable to say No
Sleeping problems
Self-Harm/cutting
Eating Disorder
Self Blaming
Feeling suicidal
Drug Abuse/Drinking Problems
Lack of Emotion
Isolation
Fear of Sex
Prostitution

Sexual identity problems
Relationship problems
Trust problems
Feeling like you are different
Unable to cry or show emotions
Always crying
Inability to plan ahead
Financial problems
Panic attacks
Sexual dysfunction
Unable to take compliments
Fear of hurting others
Need to be perfect
Need to please others.
Intense nightmares
Flashbacks
Guilt
Depression/bad days
Shame
Feelings of self-hate
Fear of men
Fear of women
Low self-esteem
Fear of authority
Often feeling used
Jealousy
Need to feel in control
Feeling Lost
This list is in no particular order.  Please know that the effects of abuse are widespread and varied.  As hard as you may think your life is the list above are largely connected.  Healing from the effects of abuse may take a long time but if you think of it, abuse happend in some cases for a long time so healing can be the same way.  The first step is to STOP blaming yourself because you were the victim.  Second step is to find someone to talk to about this whether it's a friend, family member or a counselor.  You do not need to go through this alone. 

What I have found is the most important part of healing is to have Jesus Christ in your heart.  All things are possible through HIM.  Do know that Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for us.  By allowing Jesus to be in your life will bring you love, peace and healing.
