The server said connection could not be established so I assumed there wasn't one. Then I decided to make one! I have run into many good articles lately. In the future there should be many links on my page along with articles written by myself and a few others. If you are looking for something specific, please sign my guestbook and ask the question there. I will try to find what you are looking for. Check back periodically to see if I have found it. | Rebecca Tooby was a greatly devoted mother of two girls and a caring wife for her husband of 10 years. Always making time for her family, every morning Rebecca faithfully awoke before the rest of the household to have her morning quiet time with God and then prepare a nice breakfast for the family. She would also be at home with strawberries and watermelon slices waiting for her two girls when they got home from school each day. When it was time for Mr. Tooby to be home, she always waited to greet him at the door. The family would sit down to a nutrious homemade meal every evening. Monday nights were the only time that Rebecca was away from her two girls, but she was still with her husband because that was their date night.Every Tues. and Thurs. she made sure that the family had their Family Time. Wednesdays evenings they attended church and On Friday nights she was usually had the evening to herself because the girls often had a friend that they each wanted to spend the night with and Mr. Tooby usually had a meeting at work.Saturdays Rebecca would spend quality time with one of the girls and Mr. Tooby would spend it with the other girl. They switched every week. Sunday mornings and evenings were always spent in church. Mrs. Tooby held high in priority the qaulity time with her husband and children. She knew that she should cherish every moment. After her husbands cvompany decided to downsize things began to change around the Tooby house hold. Although Mr. Tooby was well experienced in his field, he wasnt fresh enough as the companies he applied to seemed to put it.Mrs. Tooby applied for a job at a bakery down the street to help make ends meet, while her husband comtinued to look for work. It started off very well. But as time went by and she began to learn more about the business of running a bakery, being that the owner and she became good friends, the more interested she became in starting her own business. This troubled Mr. Tooby and the girls. They understood that mom had found a new interest and felt that it wasnt bad, but it seemed like they were getting less and less attention---to the fact that they now only saw her two evenings out of the week. She had replaced most of the other nights with seminars and lectures or simply visiting with her new friend Cilia. The only thing left was one night of church and one family night which she didnt seem toget into like she had before.Mr. Tooby had taken over most of the household chores as he continued to look for work. He was becoming tired and nervy. He told his wife how her family was missing her, but she ignored him.He also mentioned that he had not seen her read her Bible in a month. She said the meetings kept her to busy to find the time for that. One day, Rebecca decided to make her family stop complaining so much . She decided she would come home early and spend the day with them as a surprise. Well, to her surprise they were not there. She checked the answering machine and there were 5 messages from her aunt Ruthie asking wear they were. It sounded as though they were suppose to be going there, but hadn't made it. Rebecca phoned Aunt Ruthie to see what was going on. Aunt Ruthie said, "I don't know Rebecca. They were suppose to be here two hours ago. You know Brent, he is NEVER late. That is why I am so concerned. He sounded aweful distraught this morning on the phone this morning before they left. Do you know whats bothering him? Anyway, he was coming over here with the two girls. Now that its summer time the two girls were wanting to swim in my pool. We were going to talk while they swam, but I dont know where they are. He didnt call you from his celluler? asked Rebecca. No, I didnt know he had one. Yes, hes had it for quite a while. Im sorry we never gave you the number. I'm going to try it right now though and Ill call you back. OK, dear. Goodbye. Rebecca hung up and tried to call Mr. Toobys cell phone. Rebecca was almost to tears as she dialed the telephone number. Have they had a wreck? she thought.. It rang twice and then a recording said that this number was no long activated. Rebecca was in full swing tears now. Then she began to worry that her family had left her and had tried to erase anyway that she could contact them. What have I done? she thought. I should have listened. I should have known. Actually, I did know. Oh God, she began to pray, you told me, I knew it, but I ignored it. Even Brent told me and I ignored him. What must my girls think of me? Lord, I went overboard I am so sorry. I neglected the very thing that You gave me. The most important thing in life is not running a successful business. It is running a successfulo family. I had it all before Lord and then I took it for granted. Oh if we could only have that love again. If we could go swimming TOGETHER like we used to. If I could hear my children laugh. I do miss those heart to heart talks with my husband and I miss those quiet moments with you Lord. Please forgive me.Lord, if they are still ok, please guide them back and put it in their hearts to forgive me too. A few moments later she heard a car pull up into the driveway. She ran to the window to look. It was her family! She ran out to them. Oh Brent, Oh Casey, Oh Luanna! Mommys home! Her girls gave a puzzled look and then saw their mothers tears. They ran to her, because they had not lost their love for her. They put their arms around Rebecca and cried. They knew what Mommys home! really meant. She was here to stay. Mr. Tooby walked to his wife with a distraught look on his face and looked her in the eye. Then all he could do was smile and cry tears of happiness too. After everyone had calmed down a bit, Mrs. Tooby asked, Where were you? Aunt Ruthie has been calling. Mr. Tooby answered, We were headed to her house but the car broke down. When we got it going again, we didnt want to go the rest of the way. I think it still needs some work. Well, what about your cell phone being unactivated? Dont you remember we cut that off a month ago because we couldnt afford it right now. Oh. We did? Yes. Well, Im just glad you all are ok. If yesterday was our last day together Id regret it for the rest of my life, but Ill never treat you all like that again. Each day will be special again. I promise. Mom? Did you say something about Aunt Ruthie calling? Oh my yes! I have to call her back! Then Rebecca Tooby and her family walked back into their home hand in hand and heart in heart. Forgiveness filled their house and the warmeth returned as if the love of God rested on them like never before. THE END |

| You know, in that chapter it talks about her having maids. Many of us may not have maids, but we do have our Maytags and Kenmores etc... See, her maids only did a portion of the duties, but our "maids" do a portion of the duties too---so I guess we shouldn't be complaining :) |
