A young boy who is begining to doubt in Santa Claus goes outside one night to see a train... that will take him to the North Pole? He meets a happy girl who believes strongly in Christmas, a little boy who doesn't, a mysterious hobo, the-down-to-earth conducton, and the big man himself teach him to want to believe.
I won't be able to talk about this movie very well because I saw it in IMAX... It is awesome in IMAX and is a nice introduction to the 3-D world. The plot is a bit confusing and Billy (or "lonely boy") is the only big character with a name. But it's cute! Maybe a bit corny... The art ROCKS!!! It's kinda different and loses interest a bit about halfway through. If you're not at IMAX, don't plan on taking teen-agers.

Rated For:
Sexual and Nudity: Um... the elves dance at the end... which is kinda weird... not very offencive, but it's really out of place...

Offence to Chirstianity: Santa is elevated to the "God" level.

Other: Scared of heigts? Don't watch it in IMAX.

Cornfeild Lion's Rating: G

Quotes:

The Conductor: "Well, ya comin'?"
The Boy: "Where?"
The Conductor: "To the North Pole, of course! This is the Polar Express!"

The Conductor: "Sometimes the most real things in this world are the things we can't see."

The Conductor: "The thing about trains... it doesn't matter where they're going. What matters is deciding to get on."

The Conductor: "All aboard!"

Hobo: "Seeing is believing."

The Boy: "I'm looking for a girl."
Hobo: after a pause; bursts out laughing "Well aren't we all?"
