My missions trip to Russia had to be the single most life changing event I have experienced.  There were so many people to meet and so much to be thankful for that God provided while we were there.  While we were there I kept a journal containing both emotional and spiritual moments so overwhelming for me!   It's included on this page as you scroll down.
Russia Missions Trip 2001

The Ride Over

On this flight to Moscow I have seen some of the most beautiful sunsets.  Actually It was a non-stop sunset/sunrise since we took off.  For moments the sun would go below the cloud cover and then pop back up again.  I finished reading "the sovereignty of God" and i have grown to depend on Jesus even for sleep.
It was HOT! in Moscow but we had fun- we visited the kremlin- beautiful churches and architecture!  The Lord provided for us even though the heat was so intense.

The Lord gave me the wonderful pleasure of konwing a little Russian girl named Nastya (Anastasia).  Even though I couldn't understand her speaking somehow we spoke thourhg a lot of smiling and body movements.  She is sooo cute!  She makes me want to have a little girl.  She wore a tiny one piece white dress with green flowers on it.  She has blode hair and the cutest smile.  I hope the pictures turn out
Adorable!!
Today we went on a long (and bumpy) trip to the camp in Belegorsk.  We actually got really involved and ended up playing speedball with the big red ball.  I taught Meesha and David how to throw a football.  On the way up  Rita sat on my lap.  She is so cute!  Katya 5, Albina 6, Rita 7.  I love these little girls!  They love me too- especially becuase I give them shoulder rides, I let them play with my hair and I teach them songs on the piano.  ON teh way back from the camp, Albina layed on my lap- she put her little head right up againsty my chest and fell asleep.  So cute!  I could feel her hair tickling my nose...

We had meat in both meals today- I wonder if they always have meat or if they are just treating us special.  I loved the blueberry jam.  I let Rita and her sisters take some pictures, I hope they came out ok.  WE went up to see a view of the camp-  the landskape is pretty amazing.

This evening I got to play Vadeem and Sveta's piano.  It is tuned pretty well but the keys don't alwaya play, yet a piano is a piano!  I'll be glad to play it!  I sang some songs with Sarah and taught Rita how to play "Mary had a little lamb"  All the little girls are so loving to me- I wish I had little sisters!  They are intellegent and hard to understand becuase they don't speak English, but just like with Nastya, smiling and body language are so important.  I hope to get some sleep tonight- every body snores!  O well, Lord bless me, and thank you for such vivid and wonderful experiences.
David and Rita and Me
There is much more to be told, but in light of the fact that personal experience retold can get a little tedious, I've decided just to include pictures.  But you get the idea....

The project house for Vadeem and Sveta and their children.
My wonderful friends Andrew and Susie, Susie the lady on the left were the Americans who aided us in both translating, and also in helping us know what to do and where to go.  Their family also came and we stayed with them on various parts of the trip.  Their son David is under the table and you can just see the hair of their youngest, Noah.
