From the love of God, I came to be
Who I am today and who I'll be.
So many pieces I am made
Just like the one by whom I was saved.
Faithful like Ruth, Job, and Enoch.
Patient as Job was too.
Yet gullible like Adam and Eve.
It's hard to see what's true
Not nearly as wise as Solomon was,
but smart like Abraham's wife.
Like Joseph, I long to dream a dream
And to see God's colorful things.
But sometimes I am caught off guard.
And say thing I'd never think.
Like Peter when threatened with his life,
He spoke three times and he denied
His heart.
I try to be kind like a Samaritan,
But often find myself failing miserably.
To walk like Jesus, I long to do, but
My strides are far too wide.
Love thy neighbor isn't hard to do,
Just reach out and find my hand.
I'll try to help you as best I can.
In my mind's eye I try to see clearly
I pray you strive for that too,
So you can 'see' me in another light,
The glow from God's grace and love.
