| What Paul Went Through | |||||||
| II Corinthians 11: 23-28, "Are they ministers of Christ?-I speak as a fool-I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in depths often. From the Jews five times I recieved forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethen; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness- besides other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. II Corinthians 9-10, "And He said to me, 'My Grace is sufficient for you, for My strangth is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of CHrist may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Paul went through a lot for Christ's sake. I may feel persecuted at times at my campus, but compared to what Paul went through it is like nothing. In II Corinthians 4:17 it says, "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." There we have it, our light troubles is just for the moment, but what we have to look for is that we have the eternity to spend with Christ. Everything Paul gave up was for Christ, I am willing to give up TV and boyfriends for Christ's sake. Just depend on God. We are not persecuted like the Christians in the day was persecuted. So just look up, and praise God that you can serve Him and only Him. |
