Bill Moore Lake June 26th 2004
My cousin, Sister-in-law, wife and I went camping near Bill Moore Lake to find some wheeling and enjoy the green scenery.  It rained pretty constantly, which made it tough to keep warm with the fire restrictions in place.  Never did understand why there was even restrictions in place because the ground was soak-n-wet!  It was a great time and we learned where most of the roads lead to.

The story behind the mud pit is apparently there is a new Forest Ranger hired for the area and she doesn't like this mud pit.  She has threatened to close the entire trail if 4-wheelers don't stay out of it.  We didn't know this, but on our way back down the mountain we met up with some members of the MHJC who informed us of the situation.  We would never do anything that would jeapordize any trail, but it seemed the trail leader of the MHJC was placing blame on us.  I assure you that there were no signs that it was not a legal route.   There are signes up now and I think they will keep the honest wheeler honest.  Hopefully we can reach a common ground with the new Forest Ranger.
