| Attitude | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" Ephesians 4:22-24 |

| My attitude should be made new as I strive to be holy and righteous. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Read Matthew 23:25-28 The outide might look clean, but if the inside is dirty, then you are a hypocrite. Looking good on the outside means nothing to God if the inside isn't clean. Our attitudes are on the inside, our behaviors are on the outside. If we work only on behavior, we are only "painting the tomb," making ourselves look pretty on the outside when we aren't pretty on the inside, in fact, we're spiritually dead. If we work on having the right attitude, then the inside will be clean, making the outside attractive as well. |

| Love 1. Will you love God when He forgives your sins? 2. Will you love God when He punishes your disobedience? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Trust 1. Could you trust God if you were at a church service and you sensed He wanted you to respond to the sermon? 2. Could you trust God if you were in a car accident, and you found out that you could never walk again? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Obedience 1. Would you obey God if He asked you to help plan the youth service? 2. Would you obey God if He asked you to give your nicest outfit to the girl/guy you like the least? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Humility 1.Can you be humble toward God when He wants to give you a blessing? 2. Can you be humle toward God when you feel His Spirit convicting you og sin? |

| Often it's easier to have the right attitude toward God in the first situation of each categorey. But in the second situation, it might be more difficult. The Bible records stories of many people who suffered extrememly difficult circumstances but still maintained an attitude of trust and obedience toward God. Look at something that happened to David near the of his life. He did something that God had stictly forbidden him to do. He counted the people under his command. He was warned not to, but he did it anyway. When God was about to send a punishment on David, He gave David the opportunity to choose the form of punishment. (read 1 Coronicles 21:1-26) |
