John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If you continue in my words than are you my disciples indeed
The word continue seemes to be a hard saying:
Whom did the truth come by?
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
No man can come to the Father but by Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus is the truth.
There is no other way to get to heaven except by going through Jesus Christ
It doesnt matter if you are physically born a Jew or you think that you are a righteous person.
The bible says that no man which represents mankind can come to the father except by Christ
Every person must come to Christ before he or she comes to the father
Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone - John 10:9
No one can do it for you, you have to come through the son to get to the father
Yes, there are different types of situations that Jesus Christ frees us from:
First, Jesus Christ frees us from the bondage of sin because he died for the sins of the world.
He frees everyone that have truly accepts HIM as their LORD and Savior.
The man that has not accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior is enslaved to his sins, having to pay for his sins.
Jesus Christ can free one from paying for his or her sins
One is in bondage to sin
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and because you are in bondage to sin (you sin because it is natural for you to do soyou are a slave to sin) you will have to pay for your sin.
Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as his or her savior that person no longer is a servant to sin but a servant of righteousness)
Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Romans 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
Romans 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (When one is in bondage to sin, they dont sin willfully though one's sin is because of servitude)
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Once you are free from sin, made free from sin in Jesus Christ, you become fruits to that of holiness and that of everlasting life.
Our sins as Christians are now covered by the blood of Jesus Christ
Though as Christians we ought not to continue in sin God forbids us!
We ought not to continue to live in sin - Romans 6:1-6.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
As a Christian Jesus Christ still saves us; when we are saved we are saved instantly.
Like a baby who is born from the womb.
The child grows toward adulthood from the time of birth
A good parent wants that child to grow accordingly; the parent wants to make sure the child has the proper nutrition as it grows.
God encourages us to do the same.
When we do for Christ he does for us - James 4:8
We as Christians have to illustrate our faith by our works-James 2:24-26.
Reading John 8: 31 the following comes to mind: faith without works is dead
Is Christ the LORD of your life?
Matt 6:24
James 1:8
Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,I will spue thee out of my mouth.
God does not want us to be fruitless Christians. God wants us to learn of him; when we learn of him, we learn of truth; when we learn of truth, we grow from the old man to the new man.
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
Such great a salvation - Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Christ can save you from hell Romans6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
What you must do? Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. (salvation is open to everyone)
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Jesus Christ is giving you a personal invitation. He knows your struggles as he offers to take on your burden.
Mat 11:28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
