My Early bikes, from the 70's
This was my very first bike. It was the Honda SS-50 5 speed single.
Similar to the stock picture.
A car driver decided to open their door as I was riding along, I did an up-an-over and landed on the bonnet. As the chassis was pressed steel, it was a writeoff! So sad.
I then had my first car, a 1965 Lotus Ford Cortina Mk1, this came with a duff engine,so after the mechanic put another duff engine in! I scrapped it and put a deposit on a bike. It was to be 34 yrs before I had a car again
Then came the Suzuki TS-250, a fantastic touring machine, which I went to Scotland and back on. However, after losing 5th gear onm a local run, I put it into a garage run by a con man and he absconded with the bike, leaving me to carry on paying it off. I found it yrs later in a back garden rusting away. He eventually landed in jail for other offences. Poetic justice, I guess.
After a break of some years I got a scooter, until some mate borrowed it an came off. It was wrecked, but he paid back what it was worth. Then I had a Yammy scooter, which I took to Caldicot on a cold snowy day. My hands were beyond freezing by the time I got there. Never had any money for it. Hmm.
So then I bought a Honda 500 single. This was my last bike until 2005 when I started again. With much better results this time!"
