Tigerton won their third conference game, 43-36 over the Tri-County Penguins although they scored only fifteen second half points.
After the Tigers took a quick 2-0 lead, Tri-County's Tim Williams hit two consecutive three-point shots to give the Penguins a 6-2 advantage. Tigerton went on an 11-4 run to lead after the first quarter, 13-10.
The Tigers opened it up in the second quarter as Nick Desrochers scored twelve of his game-high 27 points. Tigerton played well defensively also, holding the Penguins to only six points on 3-of-11 shooting. Tigerton led at the half, 28-16.
The defensive intensity continued into the third quarter as the Penguins again were held to only six points. Tigerton's offense was nonexistent, however, due mainly to the increased pressure from the Penguin defense. Tigerton scored only two points in the period, but held on to a 30-22 advantage.
The Tigers' offense was again sparked by a key three-point basket by Jamie Wudstrack, giving Tigerton a 40-33 lead with 3:00 to play. The Penguins would get no closer than five points, and the Tigers held on for the win.
Tigerton's next game is the big rivalry game with the Bowler Panthers on Tuesday night.
