| A update on FFX since Japan gets it July 17, aiyah that's today. Design The good news is that the character design was handled by Tensuya Nomura. Who is he? Well, the only thing i can say is that he didn't do Final Fantasy 9. FF9 was a great game but many ppl complained about the unrealistic and childish look of the characters. Nomura wants to make it look like the thing actually happens. He wants to take the players to the Fantasy. So he created amazing real characters. Characters As you know the Final Fantasy Series always stars a person. The main characters in FFX are Tidus (right) and Yuna. (Below) Tidus is an sports athlete that plays Blitzball (a mini game in the game) Yuna is some type of mage that can summon creatures. Other characters are Auron (sword fighter) Seymour (mage) Rikku (theif) Wakka (unknown), Lulu (unknown), Kimari (beast). Gameplay Some differences have been made in the gameplay. Such as the characters are able to change equipment during battle. As said eariler, Yuna is able to summon creatures. These creatures are called Shin which is like Japanese for spirit. These Shin will take the place of summons. Instead of unleashing a sweet attack like in the other Final Fantasys, you will be able to control them as characters like the old summon that appears in all the FF Shiva. (right) You will be able to control them like normal characters. Each Shin has his/her own unqiue attacks and will develop new ones as they get stronger. The most significant new feature is the characters will talk!!! Yes, Squaresoft decided to add synchronized talking to the game. The mouth synch is not known yet in English or it will be dubbed. My Opinion From the preview and info i got, i believe that FFX has a shot of being the best Final Fantasy ever. Not much is known about the storyline though. I just hope it's not like FF8 where it focuses on what the characters will do and not about them more, then it won't be as spectular. More pics and previews/reviews will be up soon. How Japan Rated it One of Japan's game magazine gave it a perfect score. Others gave it a 9 out of 10. I just hate that. A game gets great ratings and we don't even get to see the cover till 6 months later. Aiyah. Back to home |
