After my last batisado I had to go and work in another town, Den Haag. Traffic in the Netherlands is so bad (very busy) that it was impossible for me
to keep training capoeira in the town where I live, luckily for me there was also a capoeira group in Den Haag, so I
joined them. Batuque Capoeira Group from Contra Mestre Vladimir Frama.
Some new moves I learned.
Au batido
Brancha
Au batido is a sort handstand on one hand where you kick your leg a bit to the front, there are various
ways to do this move... kick in front, hold your leg with one hand, kick it side ways in the air, etc.
Brancha (I do not know if this is written correctly) is a headstand where you bend your back as far as possible,
to keep your balance you have to place your hand behind your head, you do this while you are bending, NOT before, that would be very hard,
it is also possible to do this move with one leg streched, Pimenta (a girl from my group who used to do gymnastics)
can do that with one foot almost touching the ground... (So I still have to practice a lot)
Our Batizado was 4, 5 and 6 june 1999, Mestre Espirro Mirrim from Cord�o de Ouro Fortaleza
was our special guest. He was realy great!!! Too bad that all the pictures I took from him were not so very nice
so I am going to try and find a nice picture from one of the other groupmembers...
And this year I have been to Brasil, to see how capoeira is realy done. And ofcourse I played along
Here I get my new cord from Vladimir, Blue-White. A lot of groups have different colours for graduations,
that sometimes makes it hard to see what rank someone has, for example the cord I had before, yellow from the other group,
with batuque means that you are a teacher, confusing huh... With batuque you first get white, then beu, blue-white, brown, green and
the rest I actualy do not know...
O, right on the bottom of the picture you see Pica Pau talking to Caboge (from behind) and on the left bottom you see Marreta from behind, some other teachers in Holland
And ofcourse there was Feij�o Preto, this time my boyfriend (Marcel) played along with 2 other members of Medicamento Dirk and Stefan.
