It’s been one week…one whole week and it’s felt like only a fleeting moment. I never thought spending a summer in sleepy Capeside could be so much fun, but here Pacey and I are, letting loose and having the time of our lives. On Wednesday we went to Capeside’s famous Dive-in movies, Thursday we lay on the beach in the hot sun, yesterday we went rollerblading around town and last night we ate buckets of ice cream as we poured our hearts out to each other over our lost loves, Dawson and Audrey. I feel like I’m 15 years old again. Back then Andie was at the mental facility, Dawson was in Philly and Pacey and I spent our summer in much the same way we are now. Just the two of us, hanging out and being kids. Only this time there’s one major difference, which seems to be making this summer all the more exciting. This time, Pacey and I have a romantic history, with each other. So now whenever we wrestle over the last cookie, or go swimming naked, there’s this undeniable sexual chemistry just bubbling away between us. I know I shouldn’t be thinking about it, but I can’t help it. I just can’t stop myself from thinking ‘What if?’ What if we extended this ‘lil’ fun summer into something a little more…fun? It’s a stupid thought I know, and I feel even guilty for thinking of having a summer fling with someone I care so much about, but I can’t stop thinking it. And when he’s around, I can’t stop feeling it.
“Movies tonight Potter?” Pacey interrupts my un-pure thoughts, joining me in my lunch break at the yacht club.
“It’s Saturday night Pacey, what else is there to do?” I reply.
“Exactly.” He smirks. “There ain’t much on but I figure after whatever lame movie it is we choose, we can go to the ice-cream place on Centre Rd. You know they brought back that strawberry and chocolate one I love.”
“Oh right…the one you got all over your face on your tenth birthday coz you were so eager to eat it?”
“That’s the one.” He laughs, surprised I remembered.
“Sounds like a plan Pace. Definitely fits in well with our childhood theme.”
“That is does Potter. After all, what’s a childhood without ice-cream?”
“A very lame one.”
“Exactly.”
“So I’ll pick you up at 8.00,” he says, before running back off to work, as the slackest security guard the yacht club has ever seen!
