Introducing Mice
Its important to know that most any two females can be housed together no matter their age, but males are much different.  Males will only be able to be housed together when they are introduced under 3 months of age;  the younger the better.  It is usually better to have males from the same litter and who have never been separated.  With all of this in mind, lets learn how to introduce mice to one another in the easiest and least stressful way possible.
introducing on neutral ground is ideal.

-clean entire cage and rid scent of all mice (toys, bedding, etc.)
-can also introduce outside of cage on neutral ground, such as an alternate cage or box, but main cage still needs cleaned thoroughly.
provide plenty of hiding places once both are in cage.

-small boxes, houses, tunnels, etc. will due.
Expect lots of sniffing, touching, small scuffles, nibbling.

-short-lived quarrels should be expected while mice determine dominance.
-sqeaking doesn't always mean trouble.  Keep an eye on them for signs of injury.
-If there's no sign of lameness or bleeding everything is okay
It will take a few days for them to get use to each other, but after that time they should be settled.
