pulse is a finacky little page. I'm never sure exactly what to do with it. It's gone from AOL member bashing to montage of my favorite things (which I still have linked here). anyway, i figure since i see a ton of movies (since i work at the regal and all) & i read a lot, and listen to things, i could go wilwheaton style, and use this page as a recommendations page.
movie.

ok, so what movie is good? now, keep in mind, i didn't yet see lilo & stitch *gasp,* so this isn't a completely educated decision. i'm going to say, go see Bourne Identity (if you go to the website, you can play games, but the secret code thing is a pretty big letdown... still liked the site though, if only for the hilarity of it all). Minority Report makes a close second, except, it scared me. Matt Black said it scared me because I want to be a lawyer, and in MR they don't even need them. Maybe. Who knows. Minority Report was WAY better than I expected. The preview kinda made it look like it was going to completely suck. When I saw the preview for The Bourne Identity, I thought Matt Damon had lost his mind. I thought he was the biggest Ben Affleck dumb action hero wannabe ever. Then the preview started to grow on me (I think it was that music that sounded like someone was breathing rather interestingly) and I decided maybe Matt hadn't made such a bad decision after all. I liked the actual movie a lot. Some people said it's boring and the ending sucked. So what? I thought the ending was good, and I wasn't bored. Now, I'm not saying they are wrong, I'm just saying that I'm right. The funniest thing I read about BI was on E online, when Ted Casablancas said in his Awful Truth column that Matt wasn't naked enough in the movie. Hmm...
Anyway, Bourne Identity. Watch it.
book.

ok so I didn't really want Holes to be a good book. Ted had been telling me to read it forever, and since it was Ted, I kept saying, sure, yeah, stuff it. Well, not really so mean. But still. Anyway, Ted borrowed the book from the library and gave it to me, and I read it one day at work. It only took me about 5 hours to read, and it was actually really, really good. It was sort of a kid's book, but I didn't feel silly reading it. Louis Sachar did a really good job (remember Sideways Stories from Wayside School?) This book won the Newbery Medal. I really got into the story of Stanley Yelnats (same forwards and backwords, just like racecar) and would say it's the best book I've read in a while. It's even going to be a movie!
t.v.

k, so if you get more than one channel (i only get HBO), watch Sex & The City. Sex & The City is great. I love it... where else can you find great quotes l ike this? "Maybe the best any of us can do is not quit, play the hand we've been given and accessorize what we've got." - Carrie. This show is awesome. I've got the 3 seasons that are out on DVD and can't wait for the 4th. even guys can like it. well... some guys. anyway, it's the best show on TV as far as I'm concerned.
hear.

the singer's voice takes some getting used to, and I used to HATE OLP, but now I love them... Our Lady Peace, from nearby Canada just released a new CD, and I went to Media Play and bought it. I hardly ever buy CD's (except for Moby, since he's nice and I've met him) but I decided to pay for the newest OLP. I haven't decided if I like it better than Spiritual Machines yet, but I think it's pretty good. Definitely worth listening to.
go.

I was going to list some place cool I've gone to lately, to suggest you go there, but I don't know... I think it's more the people you go places with than the actual place ya go to. Every place I go with Tim, I have an awesome time, even if it's some crappy place I'd never have gone to anyway (I don't think we've been to any crappy places, but I'm just saying). So, I don't know, go for a walk, do anything, just go outside. If you don't have anyone to go out with, try to find someone. Don't give up! And if you need friends, and you're cool, get a job at the Regal...maybe people will talk to you there (no promises). kidding.
