| My grandmother was one of the most inspiring persons I have ever known. when I began my page she was still with us and she never failed to tell me how proud she was of all that I have done. In all her life, my Grandma touched many lives. She was careing and giveng and loved the Lord and all her family with every bit of her heart and soul. An outstanding Christian, she was very important to her church community. She never failed to do the unexpected, even in her time of illness. Grandma had the biggest heart and I know this because she never looked at a person with her eyes. She saw them with her heart and never judged by what others said. My Grandma died on October 25, 2000, only three days after my 17th birth-day. I never got to hear her say "Happy Burf Day, Punkin-Do!" She had just came home from a week of being in the hospital the day before my B-Day. Kelton took me to see her on my B-Day but she was asleep, exausted from a recent surgery and pain medicine (the smallest dose of Tylonal would even make her drowsy). I left her a peice of my cake. Monday went along fine. The next day at school, I had a feeling. When I got off the Vo-Tech bus I saw my Mom waiting for me. I knew something was wrong. Grandma was back in the hospital. It was bad. Her heart was beating too fast and it was wearing out. She would not last much longer. I was by her side every chance I had. The family was called in. Wednesday, she went into cartiac arrest. They brought her back but she was in a coma. Her heart finaly gave up around 11:20 AM. Grandma's death hit my Mom very hard. Mom and Grandma did everything together. They were very close. It hit me hard, too. I have been told by more than one person that I was her "favorite". Of course, we are not the only ones effected by her death, but this is what I experienced first-hand. I miss Grandma. I feel it most in this holliday time. Please keep my family and I in your prayers. |
