Jessie had decided to take some time to herself and go on a nature walk in the woods. Just then, she spotted an old house and like usual, had to go find out what was there. She knocked on the door and no one answered so she was just about to walk in when Ash seemed to fall out of no where. �What are you doing here, twerp?� She looked at him but then noticed that he was unconscious. She thought that she could use this to her advantage but he didn�t have any of his pokeballs with him. She thought to herself, �He must have been attacked my a psychic pokemon because he doesn�t seem to have any other cuts or bruises on him other than from when he fell.� She went to check out the house and it was obviously deserted so she took Ash inside with her. Luckily, she had some band-aids on her and decided to help him out. Ash started to wake up. �What�s going on and how did I get here?� Jessie was sitting in front of him and he was a little cautious. �You were attacked, weren�t you?� Ash knew that she understood what happened but decided to tell her the rest. �Some psychic pokemon came out of no where and attacked me for no reason.� Jessie just smirked. �What did it look like?� Ash wanted to know if she knew anything. �It was tall, white, and looked like a cat.� Jessie knew what it was. �If it stood on two legs than it was Mewtwo.� Ash was surprised that Jessie knew about it. �What do you have to do with it?� Jessie told him that her boss had founded the experiment to clone Mewtwo from Mew�s DNA and that it�s out of control right now. �I didn�t know that Team Rocket did things like that. Are they going to go catch it?� Jessie knew that Mewtwo was too powerful to catch. �Trust me twerp, mewtwo can never be caught. It�s too powerful to catch and it has a mind of it�s own and wants to be left alone.� Ash was about to leave but Jessie stopped him. �What�s the big idea?� Jessie knew that he couldn�t fight back without his pokemon so she wanted to take advantage of him right now. �Come here brat! I know how weak you really are without your little poke friends so I�m going to take this opportunity to get back at you.� Ash tried to make a run for the door but Jessie grabbed him and threw him to the ground. �Not so fast twerp!� Ash started to get angry and swear at her but Jessie held him down. �Temper, temper. You might blow a blood vessel with that type of language.� No matter how many times Ash tried to get up, Jessie just held him down. �You hate this, don�t you twerp?� Ash looked her straight in the eyes and she could see that he was angry. Jessie started to laugh and then she slapped him in the face. �Now listen up twerp! You�re going to listen to me whether you like it or not!� Ash started to cry and Jessie smiled evilly. �Now I have you right where I want you. I�m going to teach you a lesson that you�ll never forget.� Ash was terrified of her right now and wanted to wake up and know this was all a bad dream but it was real. �You�ve always known I could easily overpower you. You just fell into the wrong place at the wrong time and now I have you and there�s nothing you can do about it.� Jessie grabbed some rope and tied him up. �Now you�re coming with me.� Ash tried to resist but Jessie was a lot stronger than him.
James was back at the place they had camped for the night waiting for Jessie to get back. When she arrived with Ash tied up, they couldn�t believe it. �Jessie, why do you have the twerp with you?� She was all happy about what she had done and gladly told him what happened. �So what are you going to do with him now?� Jessie knew exactly what she was going to do. �I want him to be a servant for me. Maybe after that, he will learn to appreciate us.� She tied him to a tree and knew how scared he was by now so she laughed at him right in his face. �Now you know what it�s like to be the loser.� Jessie grabbed a whip out of their balloon basket and whipped the ground almost hitting him. �If you don�t do exactly what I tell you, you�re going to get it.� James was starting to freak out and get scared of Jessie because he had been abused by a whip from the girl his parents wanted him to marry. �Jessie, what are you doing?� She knew why he was scared so she went up to him and tried to calm him down. �I�m not going to use it on you, it�s for the twerp. I want him to listen to me and I know that he won�t if I don�t do this.� James was still a little scared but he understood. �Alright Jessie.� After dealing with James, she went and untied Ash but put shackles on him. �Now I want you to do something for me.� Ash didn�t like the sound of her voice and knew she was up to something. Jessie sat down on a rock and made him kneel down in front of her like she was a queen. �I want you to go get me that bowl of fruit over there and peel them for me and put them in my mouth.� Ash was about to refuse when she grabbed the whip and lashed it on him. He quickly got up and did everything she told him to do. Ash wanted to talk to her but he knew if he tried to that she would just get angry. Jessie realized that he wanted to talk to her so she finally told him to take a break. �You hate this and I can tell. That�s the reason I�m making you do this.� Ash knew that Jessie wouldn�t let him go and he started to whine. �You�re so insensitive! You�ve always hated me and now you�re using me like this! Why is it that you only pick on me?� Jessie seemed to get pleasure out of his whining and then hissed at him. �I�m just putting you in your place.� Jessie started taunting him and it seemed like she would never stop. Ash was crying a river by the time Jessie was done teasing him. �So how come your friends haven�t come looking for you?� Ash answered back. �They are looking for me but how do you expect them to find me in a place like this?� She knew that they would never find him where she had him so she laughed again.
In a nearby town, Brock, Mai, and Max were waiting for Ash to get back from training his pokemon. Mai was the first one to speak up. �Ash said he would be back by suppertime. I�m getting worried.� Brock reassured her that Ash would be fine but he wasn�t so sure himself because it wasn�t like Ash to be late for a meal. Max was reading a book on caring for pokemon when he decided to speak up. �He went into the woods and didn�t come back out, right? So then he�s probably still somewhere in there and there are some pretty powerful pokemon in those woods.� Brock didn�t look too worried until he saw the newspaper he had bought earlier that day. �Sightings of a mysterious pokeomon in local woods. Reports of trainers going into the woods and witnessing psychic blasts.� After seeing the newspaper, they were all very worried so they decided to go look for Ash. May started to hesitate about going into the woods but followed. �I just hope he�s alright.�
They had walked for some time before coming to a clearing and found the old abandoned cabin in the woods. When they checked it inside, Ash wasn�t there so they kept on looking. Just then, they heard a huge blast and ducked just in time before the strongest psy-beam attack they ever saw almost hit them. �What was that?� Mewtwo came flying out of the trees and almost hit them with another blast.� Mai was screaming so loud that she could wake up the dead and Mewtwo came face to face with them. Brock, Mai, and Max were all terrified. Max noticed that it looked like some type of genetically altered pokemon. �I don�t know about you guys but I think we should run.� Mewtwo blocked their way but didn�t attack. Instead, he explained to them how he was created and why he was so angry. After hearing what Mewtwo had to say, they were all disgusted of Team Rocket�s organization even more than they already were. �Don�t worry Mewtwo, we want Team Rocket gone just as much as you do but I think there are better ways to solve this.� Mewtwo decided to listen to what they had to say so they kept on talking. �If you can locate them, then we could defeat the entire organization together very easily.� Mewtwo agreed despite all the anger he was feeling. Brock asked Mewtwo if he had seen Ash and when Mewtwo told him what had happeded, Brock was very worried. �But with how angry the pokemon was, he couldn�t blame him for losing control. �Is he alright?� Mewtwo said he would take them to their friend so they were relieved but what they didn�t know is that Team Rocket was there too.
Team Rocket was still having their fun ordering Ash around and they realized that he was getting tired. Jessie just stood there calmly and smirked at how weak he really was. James seemed to be quite happy himself and Jessie went over and talked to him. �You like ordering the twerp around like this?� He happily answered back to her. �Well we finally are winning for once and we have so much power.� The both laughed together but were rudely disturbed by a psy-beam attack headed straight for them. It was Mewtwo and Ash�s friends. They were in shock when they saw what Team Rocket had done to him. �Let Ash go now!� Jessie didn�t seem too scared and kept refusing to let Ash go. Mewtwo knew that Jessie and James weren�t that bad themselves even though they were with Team Rocket so he was going easy on them. Brock had known them for quite some time too so he never thought they would do something like this. �Ash, don�t worry. They�re going to get what they deserve.� Ash was looking at Brock funny so he asked him what was wrong but didn�t get the response he had expected. �Brock, don�t!� He was too scared of Jessie and James so he told his friends to go away and when they wouldn�t he yelled at them. Brock wondered why Ash was acting so strange but he was persistent about getting them to leave. �Ash, what do you think your doing?� He didn�t answer and just stayed there. His friends were forced to leave but knew something was wrong and they would have to do something about it. They all suspected the same thing, that Team Rocket had scared Ash so he would refuse to go back with his friends. They knew that as long as he refused to leave, they couldn�t make him but it scared them all that he was stuck with Team Rocket.
Jessie was still trying to make him do things for her even though he could barely stand. �You can�t be tired already? We were just getting started.� Ash knew he couldn�t take much more of this so he tried to attack Jessie but she knocked him down in one hit. �What happened?� Ash was shocked at how strong she was but even more surprised at how she knew karate. Jessie just laughed at him. �Bad move, brat. You didn�t know that I�m a 10th degree black belt, did you?� He was stunned from the attack. �Being in Team Rocket, we have a lot of physical training to do and I have always been the best in every training session.� Ash knew that he couldn�t beat her like that but he could beat her so easily in a pokemon battle. �I may not be good at pokemon battles but I can sure fight.� Ash hated how she bragged but he decided not to say anything since he didn�t want to get hit again. Jessie dragged him into an area of the woods away from James and Meowth so she was alone with him. �Jessie, what are you doing?� She laughed evilly and said, �Now I can really get back at you for humiliating me so many times. �Seviper, go!� Her snake pokemon came out of it�s ball in a flash of white light and hissed. �Ssssseevipeeeeer!� Jessie stared at Ash. �Seviper, wrap attack!� Ash tried to run away but Jessie held him back. Her pokemon started to wrap around him, squeezing him so tight, he could barely breathe. �Jessie, stop it. Please.� She decided to show him how she felt, being attacked by a pokemon. �First say something for me and yell it so James can hear. Tell me how beautiful I am and that I am the most beautiful person in the world.� He refused and instead yelled out how much he hated her. �Wrong move, twerp!� She commanded seviper again. �Make him listen!� Seviper squeezed him so hard that he couldn�t breath at all. �If you don�t start listening to me, your going to be very sorry and don�t think I don�t mean it.� He was crying again so she commanded seviper to let him go. �Your pathetic, twerp. I can�t believe how stubborn you are. If you would just listen to me, I would be a lot nicer to you.� Ash looked puzzled. �I did listen to you and all you did was hurt me even more.� She put her hand on his head and messed his hair a little. �I was just getting all my anger at you out now that I had the chance.� He backed away from her. �Do you actually think that I�m going to let you treat me like this and then trust you right after?� Jessie just started to laugh again and Ash was getting sick of it. �What�s your problem, Jessie? Why do you keep laughing like that?� She rudely answered him. �You act like an idiot so why wouldn�t I be laughing?� He just stood there and looked at her and she started to laugh again. �Jessie, stop it! Why are you making fun of me?� She stopped laughing for a moment to answer him again with another rude answer. �That clueless expression on your face is priceless.� Ash was getting sick of putting up with the way Jessie was treating him. �Why are you so controlling with me? Doesn�t treating me like this make you feel any guilt at all?� She gave him a sarcastic answer this time. �Of course it does, Ash. I feel guilty that I hadn�t done this to you sooner.� Now he was really angry but he couldn�t do anything about it. Jessie could see how angry he was so she started to make him angrier by insulting him even more. �I actually think that I�m doing you a favor. If you stay with me, you just might learn how to use your head and actually become smarter than your girlfriend�s psyduck.� He couldn�t stand just sitting there while she could insult him as much as she wanted. He started swearing at her so much that she was actually surprised at how he would talk like that. �I guess spending time with me did teach you something. You actually learned how to tell someone off.� He was about to yell at her some more but she put her hand over his mouth. �I�m actually impressed because no one has ever had the guts to tell me off like that.� He looked at her funny. �So you mean that in a good way? Or are you going to get mad at me again?� She was actually smiling at him nicely. �No, I�m not going to get angry at you. I think I�ve proven my point and got my anger at you out.� Ash was still cautious of her and backed away. �I know I could never trust you. Your way too unpredictable.� Jessie knew he was right so she decided not to argue. �You�re right, twerp. No one has ever held me back. When I want something I get it and I still want you serving me.� Ash couldn�t believe she still wanted him like that. �Why do you want me to serve you anyways? If your so tough than you could easily find your way into a job that would make you more money than you could imagine and then you could have all the servants you want.� She thought about it for a second but disagreed. It�s not the same as having you serve me because I am your worse enemy after all, aren�t I? And you seem very uncomfortable taking orders from me so all the more pleasure for me.� Ash thought about it and realized that she was the more dominant member out of her team and she always liked to pick on him whenever she could. �I know you hate me, Jessie. I just don�t understand why.� Jessie had been mean to him ever since she first met him with the exception of a few times that she helped him out when he needed it. �You�re wrong twerp. I don�t hate and I have been nice to you at times. Remember how I helped you out the times you really needed it?� He wondered what she was getting to. �What about it?� She continued, �did you like it when I was nice to you?� Ash still didn�t understand what she was trying to say but kept listening to her. �I could be nice to you like that all the time if you let me order you around.� He started to tell her off but she just ignored him and walked away farther into the woods. Ash forgot what he was going to say to and started running after her. �Jessie wait! It�s dark out and it�s almost impossible not to get lost in the woods at night.� She just kept on walking deeper into the woods and disappeared out of his sight.
Meanwhile back in town, Brock, Mai, and Max, were still worrying about Ash. �Shouldn�t we go see if he�s ok?� Brock knew how Mai felt but if Ash was too scared to try and fight Team Rocket with Mewtwo on his side, then there must be a good reason for his decision. Max was getting impatient. �We�re way off schedule to get to the next town.� Mai was anxious to get back on the road too and started to complain. Brock tried to calm them down. �I know this is making us fall behind on our schedule but this wasn�t planned to happen.� They knew he was right so they decided to make the best of the time they had to rest. Mai had a good idea. �Why don�t we go train our pokemon since we have the time?� They all decided it was a good idea and went into a local pokemon club building to train.
In the woods, Ash was lost trying to find Jessie when she jumped out of a tree and knocked him down. Jessie was laughing at him. �Don�t let your guard down or you might get attacked again and this time by a wild pokemon.� Ash sarcastically answered back. �And like you�re not wild?� She was still on top of Ash and he couldn�t get up. �Get off me!� Jessie wouldn�t move so he tried to push he off and she refused to budge. �What are you doing? Get off!� She looked at him in the eyes but this time he didn�t try to get away from her. �Why are you just laying there? I thought you hated me?� He looked back at her. �Jessie, I have never hated you. I just don�t like the things you do because everything you do is illegal.� She told him about how much she wanted to be with James and that�s why she never tried to get another job. Ash understood but still kept asking questions. �Wouldn�t he agree to go with you if you left Team Rocket? And why do you seem to enjoy all the bad things you do?� Jessie thought it was about time he knew the truth. �Listen twerp! I just like being bad and the penalty for leaving Team Rocket is death so I�m obviously not leaving anytime soon because the boss has many pokemon just as strong and stronger than Mewtwo.� Ash understood now but kept asking questions again. �Do you really want to order me around?� That got her attention very fast. �Yes twerp, I do.� He hated it when Jessie called him that. �Stop calling me that! My name is Ash.� Jessie knew he hated it so decided to try and use that against him. �If I stop calling you twerp and if I�m nicer to you, will you let me order you around?� Ash was getting annoyed by her but knew he couldn�t win. �Fine, you win Jessie. I give up.� Jessie smiled at knowing he gave into her. �Then just follow me. I know where I�m going.� Ash doubted that she could tell where she was going at nighttime in the woods but followed her anyways. �Could you at least tell me where we�re going?� She didn�t answer but instead grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground. �Jessie, what are you doing?� He was startled that she threw him like that. �Would you like me to teach you karate or not?� Ash was surprised that she wanted to actually take the time to show him that but agreed. �Alright, as long as you don�t pull any tricks.�
Jessie spent the entire night with him trying to teach him as much as she could. Ash noticed it was morning and Jessie started to talk to him. �You really do learn quite fast. Do you realize what you just learned in one night would have taken you several years in most other places?� Ash couldn�t believe it but then realized it was true. �But how?� She got him to sit down and have a talk with her. �You have potential, you just don�t realize it. And besides, you do understand me better.� She started to get too close to him for comfort and then reached out and touched his face. Ash wanted to push her away but he was so tired that he fell asleep on top of her so she took him back to their camp and let him use her sleeping bag.
James was still sleeping so she decided not to wake him up so she decided to call her boss. The phone rang several times and finally Giovanni came onto the screen of their laptop they used to communicate with them. �You fools better have something worthwhile for a change!� Jessie seemed to be very relaxed so he asked her what was going on. �I think I have something that could really help Team Rocket get on top of things.� Giovanni was interested so he kept on listening. �Well I think I can get that brat who�s been bugging us for so long on out side. He seems to never lose. I don�t know how someone so young can be so powerful but now that he�s starting to trust us, we could be unbeatable.� Giovanni was impressed by the way she was handling her job lately and started to speak up. �You�ve been doing a great job over the past few weeks. Keep it up and I might decide to make you the leader of Team Rocket once I need someone to take over.� She was very happy to see her boss was appreciating her. �Don�t worry boss, I won�t let you down.�
James was waking up just after she was done talking with her boss. �What was all that about?� She looked very happy and after she explained what was going on to him, he was all excited too. Their moment of celebrating was cut short when the twerp woke up and was complaining. �I�m hungry.� Jessie was annoyed and got angry with him. �Is that the only thing you know how to say?� Ash was looking at her angrily again but she put a hand over his mouth before he could say anything and started to try and change his mind. �Why don�t you come with me and I�ll show you something?� Ash knew she was up to something so he hesitated. �Just tell me the truth. Don�t try and trick me into doing something.� Jessie knew if she told him where she was taking him, he wouldn�t go. �Don�t you trust me, Ash? I promise I won�t do anything to hurt you.� He knew she was lying because she never tells him the truth about anything. �I wouldn�t trust you if you were the last person on earth! How can I trust someone who lies to me all the time?� Jessie could see how scared he was of her so she decided to try some other way to get his trust. �I just want to be your friend. I may be evil but it doesn�t mean I don�t care about you.� Ash still refused to go with her so she tried to be even more convincing. �You saw how strong I am so if I didn�t like you I would have gotten you out of my way a long time ago.� He knew that she would keep trying to convince him until she got her way. �Fine, you win again. But I still know that you�re trying to trick me into doing something.� Jessie was smiling, knowing how easy it was for her to convince him to do things.
After what seemed the longest walk he had ever been on, Jessie finally started to talk. �Go pick some berries from that bush if you�re hungry.� Ash wondered why she didn�t go and get some herself but when he walked through some leaves and bushes to get to the berries, he started to get very itchy. Jessie was laughing at him. �You�re the stupidest person I have ever seen. You actually don�t know what poison ivy is?� Ash ran out of the bush very quickly but he already had been there too long. �I thought you told me you wouldn�t play any more tricks on me?� She was laughing so hard that Ash had the time to throw a punch right in her face but she quickly recovered and grabbed his arm. �If you ever do that to me again, I will break your arm!� Ash stayed quiet but he couldn�t stop scratching and Jessie thought to herself, �maybe I shouldn�t have done that to him. I�m actually feeling sorry for him. I think I�m starting to like the brat.� He was still scratching so she decided to go and calm him down. �Do you want me to give you something to stop the itching?� Ash didn�t understand why she wanted to help when she was the one who did this to him but he was desperate. She went and got some cream and started to rub it on him. After she was done, she was gathering her things and leaving without him. �Jessie, where are you going?� But she didn�t answer and just left. She started to run so he wouldn�t catch up with her and Ash was left alone with no idea where he was.
Ash was wandering around the woods, trying to find a way out and then heard his friend�s voices. He ran up to them and they were all happy to see him but wanted to know what happened. After he explained, they couldn�t believe the way Jessie really was. Brock decided that they should start heading to the next town but Ash was hesitating a bit. �Jessie is probably going to try something like that again.� His friends knew he was right so they all stayed alert for the next few days but Jessie never showed up.
5 Years later
Ash had been a pokemon master for two years now and was 17 years old. �Pikachu, thundershock!� He seemed to be always in a battle and never lost but things were a bout to take a turn for the worst. �Feraligator, body slam!� Pikachu tried to dodge the attack but was slammed down by a powerful attack and lost. �No, pikachu!� Ash rushed his pokemon to the pokemon center and it was in critical condition. Nurse Joy was worried herself. �All we can do is wait and hope.� Ash was up all night, crying half the time. The next morning Nurse Joy came out with a sad look on her face. �I�m sorry but pikachu didn�t make it.� Ash was devastated and took off running but he didn�t know where. His friends all had went their separate ways and all he had was his pikachu for quite a while now. Just then, he heard an evil laugh coming from a tree. Jessie jumped out of the tree and landed catlike on the ground. �What�s wrong, twerp? Lose your only friend left?� Ash hadn�t seen Jessie since she ditched him in the woods 5 years ago and it was obvious she hadn�t changed a bit. �Don�t you have any feelings at all? I just lost pikachu. Did you come here just to laugh at me, because I don�t need that at a time like this!� Jessie stopped laughing and then walked over to talk to him. �I didn�t mean to make you angry. I just came here to tell you that the reason I ditched you 5 years ago is because I had told my boss that I was going to try and trick you into helping Team Rocket but then I felt bad about it. I did that so it would make it look like you got away from me and no one would get in trouble. I�m sorry.� Ash couldn�t believe what he just heard. �So you do care about me?� Jessie continued talking. �You might be happy to know that I finally left Team Rocket and they�ve been shut down. I was able to defeat them with the help of Mewtwo and some other powerful pokemon but James and Meowth were both killed.� Ash started to feel sorry for her and now he knew that she understood. �So what have you been doing since then?� Jessie didn�t answer but instead showed him a military badge. �You joined the military!� Ash couldn�t believe that she was able to since she did have a criminal record. �You never had to do jail time or anything?� Jessie smiled and told him the entire story. �Why do you think we followed you twerps around? We didn�t want to get into that much trouble and while we were following you around, he actually thought we were doing our job but just messing up all the time.� Ash couldn�t believe how nice she was being to him. �Why are you being nice to me? You were never this nice before.� She knew he would ask her that. �I never said I had changed, did I?� Ash backed away but Jessie came closer to him. �I have changed for the most part though.� Ash was a bit relieved until she spoke again. �I just like picking on you.� Ash turned around to walk away but Jessie went in front of him to stop him from leaving. �Wait Ash! I do understand how you feel so I just wanted to help you out.� He still didn�t trust her but decided to listen to what she had to say. �I really do want to be your friend and I just thought we could get to know each other better.� Ash sat down and Jessie sat down with him to talk. �So now do you trust me?� Ash wasn�t as hesitant with her this time. �As long as you�re truthful with me, I don�t have a problem with you.� Jessie agreed and asked him to come to her house for a while. �Where do you live now?� She just got in her car and didn�t say anything. Ash followed, hoping she wouldn�t play any pranks on him.
When she stopped the car, they were at a mansion. �You have a mansion!� Jessie smiled. �I finally realized that crime doesn�t pay so I decided to do something good for a change and I was able to get my dream house.� When she went to unlock the door, Ash could hear what sounded like 50 dogs barking. �What was that?� Jessie opened the door and about 50 dogs were running at him full speed. Jessie was calm and just said �down boys.� Ash was amazed at how she controlled them. They walked in and a huge white Siberian tiger came charging at her. Jessie started petting it like it was just a house cat. �Wow, you have all these animals?� Jessie took him out onto a balcony and Ash was amazed at what he saw. There were so many different kinds of pokemon that it looked like she had all of them. �How many do you have?� She happily answered, �All of them and I managed to become a pokemon master.� Ash wondered how come he didn�t hear about it and like usual, he was full of questions. Jessie answered them all in one answer. �I wanted it to remain private so there wouldn�t be any publicity.� Jessie went up to her bedroom and Ash seemed to follow her wherever she went. �You like me now, Ash?� He didn�t think she noticed him there. �Yeah, I like you. Why?� Jessie sat down. �Oh, no reason. I was just wondering.�
After a while, Jessie was starting to get annoyed by Ash following her around so she flipped. �Will you stop following me! You�re annoying me and I can�t get any work done!� Ash was surprised by her reaction. �I just was wondering if you wanted me to do something for you, that�s all. Isn�t ordering me around what you�ve always wanted?� Jessie didn�t answer but instead grabbed him and threw him in a closet and locked the door. Ash couldn�t believe it. �Jessie, you never did change! You�re the same as you always were and you�ll never change!� Jessie just yelled back at him. �Like I said earlier, I just haven�t changed with you. And you still are a brat like you always were.� The closet was so small that Ash could hardly move and he didn�t understand why Jessie always picked on him. The questions ran through his head. �Am I really that annoying? Is she just using me?� Ash remembered he had a cell phone on him so he decided to try and call one of his old friends. He dialed Misty�s number and when she answered she was happy to hear from him. �I haven�t heard from you for so long! Where are you?� Ash didn�t want to feel like an idiot asking his friend for help so he didn�t mention his situation. �I�m fine. I finally became a pokemon master too.� Misty heard a huge crash in her house so she had to go. �My psyduck is such an idiot�. After the phone call was over, Ash heard footsteps outside the closet door. He knew Jessie�s footsteps and it wasn�t her so he tried not to make any noise. What he didn�t know is that Jessie didn�t tell him everything that�s happened since he last saw her.
A teenage girl with red hair the same color as Jessie�s opened the door. When she saw Ash in the closet, she giggled. �So this is the brat my mom was talking about.� Ash was confused. �You mean Jessie has a daughter?� The girl didn�t say anything but instead tried to flirt with him. �You want me to let you out? Then give me something worthwhile.� Ash just pushed her away just before Jessie entered the room. She started yelling orders at her daughter. �Get out of there! You were supposed to vacume this whole place because I have visitors coming!� The girl quickly dashed out of the room and started to clean the place. Ash couldn�t understand why she was being so bossy with her own child. �Don�t you think you we�re a little hard on her?� Jessie just laughed. �I can get her to do anything I want.� Ash wasn�t amused. �That�s cruel.� Jessie knew she was bossy and proud of it. �So Ash, if I let you out will you stop following me?� He didn�t understand why she was so mad at him but agreed anyways. �Is there anything I can do for you?� She couldn�t believe he still wanted to do things for her after what she did. �You mean you want me to order you around?� Ash didn�t seem annoyed by her anymore. � I think I could get used to you if you let me.� Jessie knew she was very controlling and that Ash would hate being around her so for the first time she told him the truth. �You won�t like it. I can tell you that right now. I don�t make friends easily and I don�t keep them for too long either.� Ash wasn�t even affected by what she said. �I don�t care. I really want to spend more time with you.� Jessie looked at him funny. �If you really want to, then fine. But I just want to make sure you know that I can be very bossy.� Ash didn�t seem to mind at all. �I also think you have a nice daughter. What�s her name?� Jessie snapped at him. �If you know what�s good for you, stay clear of my daughter. I don�t have a problem with you wanting to be her friend but I do know that she won�t like you at all.� Ash didn�t understand. �Did you tell her not to like me or something?� Jessie hated how he was full of questions but tried to answer them anyways. �I never told her anything. I just know that she won�t like you. She would be a lot more controlling than I ever have been.� Ash was starting to understand so he changed the subject. �So do you have anything for me to do?� Jessie had a lot of housework to do and she thought he could be of some help. �Could you work with my daughter to clean up the house?� Jessie told him to stay away from her daughter so he didn�t understand. �But I thought you said�.� She cut him off. �Just do it. Try not to get her angry and if she tries to make you do something, don�t do it. She will get angry but ignore it.� Ash went to help with the house work but then someone jumped out at him from the hall.
Before Ash had time to respond, someone grabbed him and brought him into a room. When he was let go, he saw Jessie�s daughter standing in front of him. �What�s the big idea!� Ash was very angry now. �And what is your name anyways?� The girl just looked at him shyly and spoke so he could barely hear. �Kate.� Ash was confused for a while because Jessie said her daughter wouldn�t like him. �Is something wrong?� Kate didn�t respond. No matter what Ash did, she wouldn�t talk to him and he suspected that Jessie wasn�t telling him everything. �You�re mom was quite mean to you back there. Is she always like that?� Kate just nodded quietly. Ash noticed how affected Kate was by the way Jessie was treating her so he went to talk to Jessie.
He arrived at her bedroom but she wasn�t there so he checked the rest of the building but couldn�t find her. Then Ash saw Kate coming down the hallway. She went into Jessie�s bedroom and lifted a picture and a security panel was hidden underneath. She entered a code and a hidden door opened. �My mom is always in here.� Ash walked in and Jessie was sitting at a very large computer so he went up to her. �Can we talk?� Jessie turned around and looked angry. �I have never let anyone but my daughter in here. What makes you think you can just barge in like this?� Ash didn�t know what to say. �Are you mad at me now? I just want to talk to you.� Jessie left what she was doing and made him sit down then yelled to Kate again. �Give us some privacy!� Ash looked at Jessie angrily. �You�ve been abusing Kate, haven�t you?� Jessie didn�t want to talk about it to him but it looked like she didn�t have a choice. �Yeah, and your point is?� He couldn�t understand how she could be so cruel. �She�s really affected by it.� Jessie didn�t seem to care about Kate�s feelings at all. �You�re right, Ash. I�m very controlling with her and I do yell at her, but that�s not why she�s like that.� Ash found that hard to believe. �So your saying that wouldn�t make her feel like that?� The look on Jessie�s face was so cold that it scared Ash. �She wants me to be like that with her. Besides, if I don�t, she would be to lazy to do anything.� Ash still didn�t understand. �Then why is she so sad?� She finally decided to tell him what was going on. �She�s not always like that. I just scared her a little too much today. I have a bad habit of scaring her when I�m angry with her. But I really do love Kate. I don�t want it to worry you.� Ash still wasn�t satisfied. �You hit her today, didn�t you?� Jessie nodded. �That�s what I meant. I scared her too much.�
Ash went back to help Kate clean the building. �Doesn�t Jessie hire a cleaning lady with all that money?� Kate looked angry after he said that. �She fires them all the time. Usually for stupid reasons.� Ash seemed to like Kate so he walked up closer to her. She shoved him aside and started yelling. �Keep you�re distance, brat!� Ash was a bit startled. �Ok, but I don�t understand why. Was Jessie right in saying you don�t like me? You never even got a chance to know me.� Kate didn�t back down. �You�re just too good and I don�t like that.� Ash couldn�t believe the resemblance between Kate and her mom. �Alright, you�ve made you�re point.� He didn�t need them both angry with him.
Jessie came out of her room and went up to Ash. She had a strange look on her face, like she was up to something. It started to scare him. �Ok, what do you have up your sleeve?� She didn�t answer but instead took him into another room with her and locked the door. Ash had had enough. �Will you stop acting like a nut job?!!?� Right after he said that, Jessie surprised him. �Here�s something I haven�t told you. I�m a double agent. I work for both the military and Team Rocket.� Ash couldn�t believe his ears. �What? You�ve lied to me this whole time?� Jessie smirked. �I didn�t lie. I just didn�t tell you everything because if I did, then I couldn�t have gotten you here.� He should have known she would never change. Ash went to leave but Jessie pushed a button and the security system locked all the exits in the building. �You�re not going anywhere.� Ash thought she might be just playing one of her pranks on him but it turned out she wasn�t. �Remember how I once told you that Team Rocket does experiments? Well we don�t just do them on pokemon.� He was really scared now but Jessie wouldn�t back down. She took a syringe out and came closer to him. �Jessie, don�t!� She didn�t listen and just kept trying to grab him. Ash started to fight with her and he had gotten a lot stronger since she tried to teach him karate. She finally was able to grab him and stick the needle in his arm. Ash was instantly knocked out and Jessie went back into her room and into her private office. She went to another control panel and entered a code. A secret door opened and there were stairs leading straight to the new Team Rocket headquarters. Jessie went to the lab and locked Ash up so he wouldn�t escape then went to the boss�s office and sat in his chair. Much had happened in five years. She had become in charge of the organization. Jessie picked up the phone and started to dial a number. When someone on the other end answered, she started to give orders. �I brought another one in just now. Don�t do anything with him until I say so. Understand?� The man on the other end didn�t like that idea. �Why not boss?� She got angry. �Are you questioning me?� The man replied, �no boss. I�m very sorry.� Jessie wanted to make sure he understood. �The boy is mine. Is that clear?� The man agreed and hung up.
That night, Ash woke up and found himself in a lab. He looked around for a way to escape but there was nothing he could use to pick the lock. Someone came to the door and unlocked it. When the door opened, Ash couldn�t believe it. It was James. �Jessie said you were dead!� He looked angry. �She lied. She was the one who tried to kill me. She killed Meowth but I escaped. I was barely alive and when I came back to try and talk to her, she made me do things I hated, like these experiments. I came to get you out of here. Jessie said she wants to do something to you herself and she only says that when she wants to do something really bad. Although I do love her and I�d do anything for her, even I could never go this far.� Ash didn�t understand why James was helping him but quickly went with him. James started to explain more. �Ever since she became in charge of Team Rocket, Jessie has been ruthless and doing things so horrible that even our old boss Giovanni couldn�t have done things like that.� The heard someone down the hall and then a gun shot was fired. �Traitor!� It was Jessie and she was raging mad.� She fired another bullet and it grazed Ash on the arm. Then James tried to sneak up in behind her and get the gun out of her hand but before he could, she fired another shot, this time directly hitting Ash. James was disgusted. �How could you do that to him? Don�t you have any feelings at all anymore?� The expression on Jessie�s face was colder than ice and it scared James a lot. �What made you become so cruel? You�ve changed so much.� She was still silent and walked over to Ash�s body, lying still on the floor and turned to James. �Put him back in the room or I�ll do the same to you!� James had do choice but to listen but he knew that Ash would die if he didn�t get to a hospital. �Jessie, do you want him to die?� She still had that cold look on her face. �Of course I don�t want him dead. I have better things planned.� James didn�t like the sound of that but brought him back to the room anyways. After lying Ash gently on a bed, he tended to the boy�s wounds. �What happened to you, Jessie?�
Three months passed and Ash was fully healed physically but inside, he was crying. Jessie had kept him locked up for three months now. Every now and then, she would try another experiment on him. Jessie walked into the room with an even colder expression on her face than before and Ash was terrified of her now. �Jessie, I can�t stand it here any longer. You�re so cruel. Even I never thought you could become this bad. All I want to know is, why? Why are you doing this?� Deep inside, she did want to love him but she just couldn�t get any emotion out. She went closer to him and Ash could have sworn he saw sadness in her eyes. �Jessie, why are you so hurt? I�ll do anything I can if it will make you happy.� When Ash said that, Jessie started to cry. He thought he might have done something wrong so he went up to her and gave her a hug. �Sometimes I just wish things could go back to the way they used to be. Like when I was younger and traveling with all my friends. You seemed so happy back then. What happened to you?� She finally hugged him back. �I feel the same way, Ash. But it can�t. I�ve done so many wrong things and even now that I realize it, I always want to do more wrong things.� Ash finally understood her. �Can�t I do something to make you happy?� Jessie stopped crying. �I don�t know why but I just keep wanting to hurt you. Every time I want to be nice, I hurt you more and more.� For some weird reason, he was able to understand all of this. �Well they always say you hurt the ones you love. You love James and you hurt him, right?� She still looked quite sad. �But not this bad. I�ve hurt you way too much for that.� Ash didn�t care. He knew how she was. �I wouldn�t mind if you just order me around. I just don�t want to be treated like this. If it will really make you happy, then I�ll gladly take orders from you. I really can�t stand seeing you like this.� Jessie finally came to her senses and agreed. �And you were right before. You always hurt the ones you love, and I do love you, Ash.�
