�Don�t you think that�s a little harsh?� James was worried about he decision but it was final. �You might be of some help tomorrow morning so I need you to come with me, ok?� He nodded as she sat down. �We have a day off today so I decided we should go to the beach and have a little fun.� They both headed for the beach and stayed there until sunset. Jessie watched the sunset with James and they fell asleep on the beach that night in each other�s arms.
When morning came, Jessie and James were up bright and early. They arrived fifteen minutes early at the city hall and Mrs. Ketchum was already there. When she saw Jessie and James walk in, she felt like knocking them out. �What is this all about? Ash is perfectly fine!� Jessie put her nose in Mrs. Ketchum�s face as she walked past her and said, �I know him much more than you do and he is far from ok!� Once the judge came into the courtroom and announced that the court was in session, Jessie was called up onto the stand. The judge heard both sides of the story and looked at Jessie. �I have came up with the decision to place Ash Ketchum under Jessica Wentworth�s care!� He got up and left after dismissing the case. Mrs. Ketchum was crying. �I did such a good job raising him! Why did you have to go and do this? I tried so hard!� Everyone ignored her and left the room. Ash was waiting outside and saw his mom come out. �What�s going on, mom? Why are we here?� She was crying as she looked at her son. �Oh, Ash! I�m so sorry! I don�t know how to explain this.� When he was told what had just happened, Ash almost fainted. �You can�t let her keep me! Jessie hates me! She always has!� He had tears rolling down his cheeks as Jessie forced him out the door and into a car. �I did this in your best interest, twerp! You�re wild and you need to be tamed!� She drove off with James and Ash in the car.
When she got to a cabin, she stopped the car and opened the back door for Ash. �The boss has cabins all over the place for Team Rocket members, so get used to it!� Jessie and James opened the door to go inside but Ash tried to take off running. �I knew you were out of control!� She pulled out a tranquilizer gun and aimed it at him. �You want to act like a wild animal, than I�ll treat you like one!� She fired the gun at him and it instantly knocked him out. Jessie and James dragged him into the cabin and lied him down in one of the bedrooms. They both went to eat lunch and then watch T.V. At around 4 O�clock, they heard Ash getting up out of the room and saw him come into the living room. Jessie stood up and walked over to him. �Don�t you dare give me any trouble!� He looked at her and started to cry. �Why are you doing this to me? My friends and pikachu will be worried!� Jessie opened the door of a cupboard and pikachu jumped into his arms. �Pikachu, I was so worried!� Ash hugged his pokemon and looked back at her. �Where are my pokeballs that were on my belt?� She held out her hand and gave him the pokeballs. �This doesn�t mean you can go back on your pokemon journey. I have legal custody of you now and I don�t think you�re ready at all to be on your own!� Ash looked at her. �Why?� Jessie explained to him exactly the way she explained to the lady with the Children�s Aid society and crossed her arms when she was finished. �You know it�s true!� He was about to yell at her but then she put a hand on his mouth and said, �I will not let you back on your pokemon journey until you�re ready and you�re far from it right now!� Ash bit her hand and tried to run for it but she stopped him with a whip. �I knew you needed to be tamed!� Jessie grabbed his arm and made him sit on the floor while she put a shock collar on him. �Now if you talk, you will get zapped! And don�t try to run away because I put a fence up around the cabin that will set the collar off you if you cross the border! If the shock collar doesn�t fix you than I will!� He tried to yell back at her but got zapped right away. She shook her head. �It takes you forever to understand something.�
For two days, Ash had tried to cross the border of the fence several times. He never managed to get away and he was so miserable. He went inside the cabin and noticed Jessie wasn�t using her laptop. She turned around to see him bugging her about it so she let him use it. After two weeks, Jessie had recently taken the shock collar off if him but put it back on right away since he tried to run for it as soon as she did.
After four months passed, Jessie had taken the collar off of him and let him speak. Ash seemed to have learned a lot, which actually surprised her. In that time, she taught him all the things he needed to learn and he finally cooperated. Jessie could see it in his eyes that he was lonely. �You�ve learned so much and your behavior has improved drastically! Why are you so sad?� Ash looked up at her. �You know why, Jessie.� She had whipped him so much in the past four months. He was surprised that she didn�t kill him with the way she treated him. When Jessie said she was going to tame him, she wasn�t kidding! There was a knock at the door and Jessie got up to answer it. Misty had come to see Ash but Jessie looked angry. She had thrown Brock, Mai, and Max out about fifty times and never let Ash see them. He looked at Misty in the doorway and then at Jessie. �Could you please let me see her?� Jessie opened the door wider and let her come inside. �Take your shoes off at the door.� Misty went up to Ash and hugged him as soon as she got inside. �I heard what happened. Are you alright?� He nodded and said, �Yeah, I�m fine.� Jessie got up from the chair she had sat down in. �Come into the bedroom with me. I need to talk to you alone.� Ash followed her and she closed the door. He sat down on the bed with her. �Jessie, I have to admit you really did help me a lot. I understand what you meant now when you said I wasn�t ready to be on my own. You did abuse me quite a bit though.� She looked at him in the eyes as he said this. �It�s ok Jessie. I probably wouldn�t have learned what I did if you didn�t and I�m sorry I gave you such a hard time.� Jessie grabbed him into a hug and held him tight into her arms as she spoke. �Listen. I only wanted what was best for you. I�ve always wanted to help you and you never saw that. I guess I hid it because I knew you would have never understood back then. I wanted what was best for you.� Ash replied, �You made me open my eyes to see the world for what it really is and so much more! Thank you, Jessie.� She could see him crying but they were tears of joy. �Why do you care so much about me though? You did hurt me a lot before and you were so cruel sometimes.� She answered him, �It�s the only way you learned anything!� Ash felt more secure around her now.
Misty was waiting in the living room for him. As Jessie came out with Ash, she grabbed his head and made him look at her. �I think you�re ready to continue your pokemon journey now but don�t forget that I still have legal custody of you!� Misty helped him to pack his things but before he left out the door, Ash gave Jessie a kiss and said, �I guess your psycho behavior is useful for something!� She rolled her eyes at his comment. �Thanks a lot!� With that, he was gone. James called Jessie over to the bedroom and they closed the door.
Ash�s IQ had increased quite a bit in the time he spent with Jessie and it kept increasing. He felt noticeably smarter all the time. Little did he know, Jessie had kept a secret from him. �What�s this?� He opened his backpack to find a photocopy of a personal ID with Jessie�s name on it. It stated that she was a neurosurgeon. Ash looked on the bottom of the paper to see a note attached. It read: �I have many talents and this is just one of them! I needed a test subject for a new procedure we wanted to try and you were it! A new discovery that could potentially increase intelligence is on its way to fame!� When Misty saw this, her mouth dropped. �She wouldn�t dare?� When she looked on the back of Ash�s head, there was a scar from stitches left in his scalp.
