My Thoughts on Chosen
Lets go in order, shall we?
- Angel coming to town was almost unnessisary
and you could feel that they just wanted to get him in
there before the end. It would have been nice for the
Scoobies to aquire the amulet on their own. Is it just
me or does Angel act like a 10 year old around Buffy?
- Cookie Dough speach was spot on! She's 22 for
gods sake, live alittle!
- Caleb's end was actually down played alittle,
which is nice, go Buff! "He had to split" was a
classic Buffy pun, but the was she cracked up at her own
joke was priceless (we all do that, c'mon).
- When Angel found out about Spikes soul was
great. You would like to think that Angel would take the
moral high ground, but if you were special and then
someone else was too, you would totally act like Angel
did. Those two crack me up.
- Speaking of Angel vs. Spike, the best name
calling in the episode went as follows, Captian Peroxide
re: Spike and Tall, dark, and forehead re: Angel. Not to
mention the amazing Angel sketch on the punching bag,
there must be a god.
- Spuffy is gaining ground in season 7. BUffy
tells Angel that Spike is her champion, much to his
surprise (and Spike's). Though I never liked them
together before, Spike's moral highness and not pushing
attitude this season make you go, "hummmm..."
- The First give Buffy the "alone" speach in
her basement. It's almost like the villian telling the
hero the plan before it's done. May be the first evil,
but apparently not the first in the brains department.
- Other great lines: Dawn- Dumbass. Spike- I'm
drowning in footwear! Anya- What am I, insensitive?
- Watching Giles, Andrew, Xander, and Amanda playing
Dungens and Dragons was a classic if I ever saw
one. It warms your heart during such an intense time.
- They road to armagedon in a school bus.
Thanks for the symbolism Joss.
- There was a huge nod back to "Welcome to the
Hellmouth" when the origonal 4 stand in a circle talking
about something very insegnificant in the light of
things and walk away, leaving Giles to say, "The earth
is definetly doom." This is the point I started
crying.
- The crying continued when Buff, Xan, and Will left
each other one by one while walking down the hall. Tear.
- White Witch Willow was soo cool. I think she
looked amazing. It was strange that she didn't want to
use magic (only because it didn't feel explained, only
stated for some reason) but she was able to conquer it
and send the mother spell flying!
Best line: "That was nifty."
- The fight was very good. The effects were
better than we've seen in a good while and the slo-mo
scythe scene were ace. (How does the scythe kill vamps
by staking if it's not made of wood?) The music
after the "get out of my face" line swells and you get
what I can "Hero Music" as 3-4 vamps go flying into the
chasm. Even the action kept me crying (a first).
- Anya was killed by being sliced in half. It
was so quick you couldn't see it coming, and so
shocking. Oh my god, just unbeliveable. I loved Anya. My
tears came back in a big way. I should have know she
would die becuase she kept talking about how Andrew
would. It's always the one who doesn't expect it. At the
end of the ep when they are looking into the hole,
Xander makes a joke. I could have done without that.
Rest in peace my litte vengence demon.
- "Oh bollocks": Spike says it alot but this
time it was truly funny. He says it right before the
pillar of light comes from him. Watching Spike go was
really a statment for his character. No tears cause I
had already seen him on Angel. So, does Buffy
really love him? Your guess is as good as mine.
- I absolutely loved Buffy running across those
buildings with the sycthe. It looks so cool. It's
like, "You almost couldn't see season 1 Buffy doing
this, but a-ha! for I am season 7 Buffy, see me run!" Or
something like that :)
- Why does Buffy and Dawn insist on saving the world
in heels? Really, that can't be productive.
- Sunnydale is gone! If anything haunts me
after this episode it's that. For seven years it has
been our home, and now, baam, no more. However, watching
the "Welcome to Sunnydale" sign fall into the
crater was almost conpensation enough :)
- When Xander talks to Andrew about Anya's
death, his jaw was shaking as he spoke. If you
didn't cry when you noticed that then you are a cold
person. Some people think that he should have been more
upset. I think it was just enough so it didn't over
shadow the big ending.
- Buffy is not the only one anymore. Say it out
loud. If you were Buffy (after seven years of being
alone) you would smile too. Plus, you saving the
world... go have a cookie.
Good lord it's over. One of my favorite hours of
television of all time. Whoo.
