Ecoloading:

Dolphins have a sence which is missing in other animals - ecoloading. They can see without using there eyes. Using this sence they can navigate under water to find some food even if is dark.

There are 2 things involved in ecoloading. First the Dolphin has to send out a high pitched sound. Then the sound echos (Bounces) off an object and sent back to the dolphin. The sound is produced in the nose because dolphins don't have any vocal cords. The sound can be pointed in the right direction with help of there melon. Its a clump of fat on there forhead it can change shape so the sound goes into the right direction.
How the dolphins navigate:

Dolphins give off alot of diffrent clicking sounds. Frequency and speed of there sounds can change. The lowfreqency are slow sounds which are used to locate bigger objects in a large area. While fast high frequency sounds are used at a close distance. At a very close range they can there high pitched clicking sound then they can use there jaw to feel with.
