| Pomegranates are a symbol of Israel but also a symbol during Rosh HaShanah. They say if you do a good deed each day for every seed within a pomegranate then you will have a year of only good things. (Also handy that they are ripe at this time, huh?) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This holiday is New Years for the Jewish people. It is also called the Days of Judgement. During this time Jews meditate or think about their wrongdoings in the past year. They must ask for forgiveness from people they have wronged. The holiday itself is heard throughout the country because synagouges will blow a shofar(horn of an animal) to remind the people to follow God's plan. |
