SOUL-SHAKEN
Well, I went to the Doctor
for an examination
He said, girl I can’t give you
any medication
That you can’t take pills
To cure a heart that’s ill
And lonely
Yeah, that I need soul surgery
So I went to the Preacher
For a revelation
He talked about faith and
Redemption
That Jesus will take away all of my sins
That holy water is the best medicine
Oh yes I’m soul-shaken
By this earthquake of life
I can feel my heart breakin'
into pieces I can’t find
Who’s gonna get me out from inside?
I went to the Prophet
To seek words of wisdom
He said, your heart’s not a prisoner
So go find it freedom
To live with conviction
You’ll find your direction
if you just believe
Well, I called up the President
For some explanations
Tell me, where’s our country goin’
With gasoline conflictions
Guess we’re all runnin’ low on fuel, faith and land
Well, I thought we were United States, but divided we stand
We’re all looking for a savior
For a little peace of mind
We’re all searching for the answers
that we can’t see when we’re blind
Oh someone save me
Save me
Save me
Save me from me
I’m just tryin’ to survive
I’m just tryin’ to stay alive
I’m just tryin’ to survive
I’m just tryin’ to stay alive
I even called all the Angels tonight
But I can’t get through their busy lines
