BRICK SHOES

I’m staring at the door that I’m about to walk through
But you’re only a few steps away
There’s a slight hesitation in this moment of truth
Don’t know if I can live if I leave but I might die if I stay

There’s no such thing as a good mistake
But I can’t give you what you want to take

The moonlight is moving faster than I
I can’t walk away but I can’t turn around

I feel your eyes glued on me, but I can’t adhere to a decision
I’m as quiet and still as a statue but my heart is beating like a drum, and as fast a train
No I don’t want to feel the guilt as if love were a religion
I know there’s only so much space to give, but I can’t be near the pain

Good-byes are made with sunsets
But horizons can come with regrets

The moonlight is moving faster than I
I can’t walk away but I can’t turn around
This heavy heart sure wants to fly
But I can’t seem to get my feet off the ground
I don't know if this love fits right
I’m only wearing brick shoes

The countdown begins and I'm stuck here in a cemented minute
These emotions leave me motionless, I'm pushing to the limit
Will I lose love or lose myself, or stay in it;
this concrete reality
