Work Stories
(This is the first one of many coming soon)
I have two part time jobs my first being Cousins Subs. I’m employed there roughly forty hours a week as a crew leader which is the same thing as a manager but has a different title until you turn 18. I have never seen people as rude as the ones that come in to Cousins. My being a manager means that I have to deal with all the people that have complaints. People who come up and say that they didn’t want onions on it people who want extra meat and don’t expect to pay for it, people who say their fries were cold or it took to long to get their food out.
There was one such occasion where a woman came in and ordered a roast beef sub and a medium fry. We ran out of sliced roast beef and the only way to slice more is on the slicer which you have to be eighteen by Wisconsin state law to operate. Neither of the two of us working was of age so I got the privilege to tell her that we didn’t have any and explained it to her. She smiled at me and said, "You’ve got to be f***ing kidding me. I will take the fries, and you can tell your manager to stick the roast beef up his a** and give me my money back," so my being the manager I was a little offended. Since our policy is that the customer is always right I cheerfully refunded her money which I hate doing because I have to do a mountain of paper work that the customer was supposed to fill out one part and we’re supposed to do the other. I could see that she was in no mood to fill out anything so I just skipped the paper work and hoped that she wasn’t going to call my owner about the incident, because with no paper work I would have gotten in trouble. When she left I cheerily cussed at her under my breath because were always supposed to act like love our jobs at work and went back to work.
