my family and friends

this was my grandma.
mary ann weihs.

she was quite possibly the most influential person to ever be in my life. one of eleven brothers and sisters, grandma was the oldest so she would often help out with household responsibilities concerning the care of her brothers and sisters. although she was not the first of the klingensmith children to marry, she did marry a wonderful man, mr. william james weihs. they were married for over 50 happy years until she left this earth in 1980. i still miss her very much.

this was my mom, ramona lea hunter,
when she was just a
little girl herself!

ramona lea hunter

here she was in her senior year of high school. go class of 1961!
(the cool thing about 1961 is that on her class ring, the date reads the same upside-down as it does right-side-up!) despite what she may think, i think she was a pretty good mom. i turned out okay!

introducing my beautiful little daughter, lily! here she is at 2 months old looking cute in her pictures taken at the wal-mart portrait studio. she is truly a joy most of the time. it's funny. she's 5 now and we grow closer and closer each and every day. it's hard to raise a good kid in las vegas. i'm hoping that i do a good job and she turns out to be a good kid when its all said and done.

my friends

as this will be an ongoing project, please do not be offended if you are in this category and your photo is not yet proudly displayed in this festively wonderful gallery.... rest assurred that it indeed will be *snicker*.

i hope you enjoy this page as much i as i am enjoying making it. it's a tribute of sorts and a gallery so that when i get homesick while i'm not in missouri, i can just come here and not feel quite so homesick....maybe...*smile*

so sit back, relax and get ready to read a little about me and my friends as i share a little of myself with you!

first up is a photo that i meant to take for years. i always snickered when i drove past here. No this isn't something that i have created in adobe photoshop, it's for real! yhis only proves that the truth is stranger than fiction!
now according to local legend, dyke lumber and dyke industries are owned by two women... you do the math!! all i know for sure, i have had countless hours of fun driving past and showing my out-of-town friends pics of it! thank you dyke lumber!

these are two of my oldest and dearest friends... galen and bill.
I first met bill (right) at a local springfield (mo) night club where i used to work. (it is no longer in business) he was the chef and what an excellent chef he was! he was every bit as repsected as chef in south park! we used to do all sorts of wild, radical, and sometimes down-right stoopid things, but we always had fun!
galen, (left) i met when i used to work at cox medical centers (i was also working at the night club then). his exwife was in the hospital and he had come to see her... later on, he and bill met up at the nihgtclub and have been together for 7 years this february (y2k).

this will be where a photo of my friend rob will go. (i havent' scanned the photo yet) rob is another of my oldest and dearest friends. we have been through much together in the several years that we have known one another. oddly enough we met through a (former) mutual friend that i went to high school with and rob met in college. rob and i, although separated by miles, always manage to pick up right where we left off in our friendship. that's something i really can appreciate about him.

kim and andrea are my bestest friends and live in st. louis. i met them through a lady named cheryl who attended the gay and lesbian expo in st. louis in spring 1996. they went to church with cheryl and needed a designer who could help them with a project for church. i met andrea and we talked and then she and her wife came over to the house and we've been good friends ever since! when andrea turned (drumroll) 30

kim and i worked and worked and pulled off a surprise party with about 150 of andrea's close friends and family! (photos pending, and yes, i have several!) it was a great party and an awesome memory i will cherish for a lifetime! this pic was taken in april of 1999 the day we kind of figured out that andrea was preggers with little "bastey" -- we were about to get on a cruise ship and travel around the harbor in seattle.

this is my little friend morgain. she lives in treestump, new mexico (ok, actually ruidoso but i've been there!) you should visit morgain online to learn more about her! but don't be discouraged if you don't unlock the mysteries of morgain online. to unlock those mysteries you must get to know her and meet her! *L* one day she will move to a new place and meet banjo-sven and they will play and dance and sing. *L*

this is my little friend heather in springfield (and me, i'm the one with the possum!). one day a few years ago we got a wild hair and decided to go play tourist in branson. we went to this little strip mall (one of about a thousand) that you could record you singing the latest hits and in the next shop get your picture taken. we decided that "pregnant hillbilly women folk" was a look we'd go fo and well...*L* she lives in springfield still with her husband and two beautiful children.

ok this isn't a friend or family. it's another little picture like dyke lumber. i've had this little postcard for years and finally decided to share it. it's one of my favorites but then, i'm a little irreverent too!
