Fearing Too Much
Heartaches mostly hurt
the inside of our heart
but sometimes they seep in
the damages in our soul.
They burn with hurt
never ceasing perseverance
until we turn it over
and let it go.
We cry out many times
never ceasing our screams
we grasp for empty air
and stretch for open ears.
The tears surround us
flooding into our empty hands
carrying out our painful memories
and releasing all our fears.
The empty words leaving mouths
are silenced by a hand
reaching to us from above
and grasping ours tight.
We often look up
blinded by our pride
and turn fearfully away
from the soft, glowing light.
We need to lift our eyes,
our hands, our voice.
We need to let go of pain
and grasp the hand of love.
We fear too much change
afraid to let go of memories inside
too far out of our comfort zone,
to reach to above.
Fearing much, but hoping more
we let go of our comforts.
Reaching up, our hands are grasped,
tightly and securely.
