ELOTE is the English Language Outreach and Teaching Exchange at the Ohio State University. We teach free English classes to Spanish speakers in the Columbus area and do other tutoring on request. All classes are taught in the Ohio Union. We also have a Conversation Partner program. Our purpose is to build a stronger alliance between OSU students and the Spanish-speaking community in the Columbus area, by exchanging our knowledge and using this knowledge to act on each other's behalf.

August Classes Cancelled (7/12)
Due to lack of attendance during July classes, the August classes have been cancelled, but classes can be set up on request with Jessica Henry by calling (614) 595-4322.
We Need Officers! (6/27)
If you are interested in being an officer next year (starting Autumn quarter 2004), please send me an e-mail ([email protected]) or call me (595-4322). Positions will include President (or two Co-Presidents if more than one person is interested), Treasurer, Secretary, and possibly Publicity Coordinator and Conversation Partner Coordinator. Thanks :)
Spring Quarter (6/27)
Spring quarter classes went pretty well. We graduated two more students (total of five students now). Classes will continue over summer on Fridays at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 1:00 pm (of designated days-- see schedule). If anyone is interested in helping out, let me know.
Winter Quarter (2/23)
Winter quarter was a little slower than Autumn quarter, likely due to the snow and cold weather. So far ELOTE has graduated three students (two students autumn quarter and one student in the winter), although many, many more have attended classes and conversation partner sessions.
