| The mad rush to the sign-up desk that immediately followed is not really worth mentioning. What is worth mentioning, however, is that Midnight Blue was still talking to Hunter. MIDNIGHT BLUE: So, about this tournament. I can win. HUNTER: So can anyone else who enters. You know that. Midnight Blue gives Hunter a sinister smile. MIDNIGHT BLUE: Not if I have anything to say about it. Let me just put it this way: I�m not your average warrior. I�ve leveled buildings with a single attack. HUNTER: Keep talking. MIDNIGHT BLUE: I want you to� guarantee my success. Otherwise� let�s just say that I might forget to hold back when I fight. HUNTER: I�m intrigued. What�s in it for me? MIDNIGHT BLUE: Aside from your life? I�ll split the reward with you. I can use it to give you power. HUNTER: You can�t. You don�t even know what the prize is. MIDNIGHT BLUE: Maybe so, but I know that it has a strange power over people in this land. I can help you exploit that. You know what I ask in return. HUNTER: It sounds good to me. It�s settled, then. You�ve got a spot in the finals, my friend. Axem Hunter walks off to revisit the pile of treasure in his office. MEANWHILE: STRIFE: Finally! I�m in place to sign up! Image lunges forward just as Strife is about to begin talking to the underling in charge of sign-ups. UNDERLING: What good luck. You�ve got the second to last spot in the tournament. IMAGE (Mr. Burns-esque): Excellent. UNDERLING: So, what name do you go by? IMAGE: Axem Image. UNDERLING: Weapon of choice? IMAGE: Axe. UNDERLING: Good enough. Now enter the Coliseum. You�ll be staying on the top floor of the hotel region. NEXT! Image exits the line and enters the Coliseum through the Contestant�s Entrance. Strife steps up to the desk. UNDERLING: Name? STRIFE: Axem Strife. UNDERLING: Weapon? STRIFE: Axe. UNDERLING: Follow the other one, the one that just went in. As Strife turns, the underling calls out to him. UNDERLING: Are there any more of you? Strife turns back around. STRIFE: Huh? Any more of whom? UNDERLING: Your type. You obviously aren�t human. STRIFE: As far as I know, Image is the only other Axem here. UNDERLING: Then you might want to know that five Axems other than you two signed up. STRIFE: Really? Who? UNDERLING: Let me see� Axems Destruction, Inferno, Aardvark, Snake, and Midnight Blue. (AXEM FAST�S NOTE: Axem Fast says, �Shucks��) STRIFE: Thanks. I�ll remember that. Strife turns to the Contestant�s Entrance and goes in, just in time to miss the announcement.
