AXEMS: THE TOLARIAN CHRONICLES
Episode Three
MEANWHILE: Axem Hunter wakes up to the sound of an electric buzz. HUNTER (senselessly): and the rain in Spain actually falls on my head? He stumbles around senselessly until he runs into something. A wall. HUNTER (senselessly): Wha-? Whos there? Hunter runs into the wall again and falls backwards. ELAPSE TIME: Hunter finally awakens. HUNTER: Huh? What? Whe-Wait a second, where am I? Hunter sits up and looks around. Hes seated under a large tree. However, a few things are unusual about this tree. For one, its metal. For another, its over 200 feet tall. HUNTER: That tree is definitely not natural. Hunter gets up and examines the tree. He sniffs at it, but smells nothing. He looks at it closely. Finally, he touches it. From above him, a buzzing sound blares down. Think of an alarm clock, amplified a thousand times. HUNTER: OW! MY EARS! THEY HURT! MAKE IT STOP! Suddenly, the tree stops the sound. A robotic voice sounds from near the top of the tree. ROBOTIC VOICE: Specimen identified as organic. Commence removal. HUNTER: Removal? Eep! Hunter runs off. Eventually, he stops looking back and looks forward. HUNTER: Well, sure is scenic... In front of Hunter, there is only a vast expanse of gray plains broken only by a road. The gray sky above shrouds the sun. HUNTER: Oh well. I guess I should follow the road. Maybe someone along it has a deck of cards. Hunter walks to the road. He starts to walk along it. FIVE HOURS LATER: Hunter arrives at the city of Tolaria. Almost immediately, he sees a building labeled The House of Poker. HUNTER: Thats good enough [Yawn] So tired Hunter collapses from exhaustion. ELAPSE TIME: Hunter wakes up in time to see a few people enter the House of Poker. HUNTER: Goodie Hunter runs up to the building and enters. Inside, he sees five people sit down at a table. Theyre about to shuffle the deck. HUNTER: Wait! Dont shuffle it! The dealer turns around. DEALER: And why shouldnt I? HUNTER: Because I want to play. DEALER: Fine. Sit down. Hunter sits down. The cards are dealt. ELAPSE TIME: Hunter begrudgingly pushes another fifty coins to the person on his right. HUNTER: This round, my lucks gonna turn around. I can tell. DEALER: Yeah, right. The dealer deals. Hunter looks at his hand. HUNTER (thinking): Hmm I have nothing. Wait a second I have two 2s. Oh boy, theyre clubs, too. Hunter gets ready to set his cards down and leave. Suddenly, he gets a different idea. HUNTER (thinking): Wait a second. Ive lost to two twos before. Lets see if I can push my luck this time. ELAPSE TIME: PERSON #4: I fold also. Its just you and him, Tony. TONY: So, youve held out this far. Whats your name? HUNTER: Ill see your bid and raise you 5. Also, I add my name to the bid. ELAPSE TIME AGAIN: Tony sweats. TONY: Well its not money, I dont have any more here. I add my title as Master of the Tournament! HUNTER (thinking): WHOA! I just HAVE to win that! HUNTER: I raise you. TONY: If youre raising it this high, I cant risk any more. Take it all. HUNTER: Yes! Hunter walks out of the building, his pockets overflowing with money and the tournament master pin on the jacket he won. HUNTER: Tournament? I can see opportunities already. END OF EPISODE THREE!
