| Crash! Each of the Tournament of Wits contestants woke up to the earsplitting sound of cymbals which Jr. Koopa Hammer provided. HAMMER: C�mon contestants, wake up and smell the coffee! It�s the first day of the tournament. Lead was the contestant he was currently talking to. LEAD: I� don�t like coffee. With much effort Lead turned over only to hear the cymbals this time right next to his ear. HAMMER: You lazy Koopa! Get out of bed! Hammer left to wake up other contestants while Lead got out of bed. LEAD: I� hate� waking up early� TEN MINUTES LATER Twenty-six groaning Axems and Jr. Koopas stand outside their hotel half-asleep and some not even awake at all. The only one fully awake is Axem Blue. Some axems including Banger and Nuclear have managed to fall asleep while still keeping on their feet. They all begin bickering about various things. MIMIC: (sarcastically) Those two are attentive. BLUE: Silence yourself, Axem Mimic. JK GREEN: I hate waking up this early. EQUILIBRUIM: It�s the way the cookie crumbles. Get used to it. This goes on until Hammer almost deafens them with his cymbals. HAMMER: Stop fighting. You will be sleeping together and waking up this early for the next month or so, so get used to it. They all groan, even Blue. HAMMER: Now you all know your way to the stadium. Please be there in approximately twenty minutes. They all set off at a run, JK Green and Axem Fast in front, Lead in the back, and the rest in the middle. However, since Equilibruim�s stats are constantly changing, he changes speedways also. Today, Axem Equilibruim�s speed is as low as a sloth or snails on a day when they�re feeling exceptionally slow. He runs aside Jr. Koopa Lead, about thirty feet behind the others. EQUILBRUIM: Sometimes, I hate changing stats� However before they truly set off, Jr. Koopa Green dashes by him. JK GREEN: That�s just the way the cookie crumbles. JK Green runs off into the dust. Equilibruim growls slightly. TWENTY MINUTES LATER The contestants are all in the contestants building. They are all talking about whom they might be up against. ZEUS: I�ll cream this tournament! Then all will bow down to me! BWAHAHAHA! COBALT: Who brought the ropes this time? JK Red pulls one out of his shell. JK RED: I have this for emergencies. This is an emergency. ZEUS: Haha! How will binds stop me from talking? Haha! JK RED: You�re insane! JK Red pulls an apple out of his shell and puts it in Zeus�s mouth. JK RED: That�s better. Halo�s voice comes over the loudspeakers at that time. HALO: Koopas and Goombas, Toads and Penguins. And humans. I�d like to welcome you all to the Tournament of Wits. AUDIENCE: Yay. He said this yesterday but yay anyway. Hammer takes over at this point. HAMMER: Today we will have our first match fought. One contestant will win and be going on to the next round and one will be eliminated from the tournament. Now. Will Axem Goldenrod and Jr. Troopa Typhoon please report to the stadium? GOLDENROD: Aww, geez. Why do I have to be in the first battle? TYPHOON: Aww, give it a rest you big baby. GOLDENROD: GRRR� The two contestants walk out of the contestants building and onto the levitating arena. Halo now takes over. HALO: Take your sides and then begin the match. BATTLE ONE: AXEM GOLDENROD VS. JR. TROOPA TYPHOON TYPHOON: I�ll wipe the floor with you! GOLDENROD: Well I would wipe the floor with you, but you�re in the air, so wiping the floor won�t do any good. I�ll just attack you and see what happens. TYPHOON: Right� Goldenrod: 710/710 Typhoon: 650/650 Goldenrod starts out the battle by using Lightning Bolt. He holds his palms out so they face Typhoon. A lightning bolt shoots out of his palms. Typhoon easily dodges. TYPHOON: Hah! That attack couldn�t hit a wide screen TV while it was right in front of you! GOLDENROD: Why would I want to blow up a wide screen TV? TYPHOON: Dunno. Typhoon flaps his bat-like wings and uses his dark gust attack. Though it only does from 30-90 damage, is not easy to dodge. Goldenrod is hit and loses 60 hp. Goldenrod: 650/710 TYPHOON: Now we�re even! GOLDENROD: Not for long! Typhoon flies low for a Spike Ram attack. Goldenrod is knocked across the arena and takes 90 damage. Goldenrod: 560/710 Goldenrod gets on his feet only to see Typhoon shooting down at him again. However Goldenrod is ready now. He spins around in a circular motion faster and faster. Typhoon is too close to dodge now. He is hit by the attack and loses 150 damage. Typhoon falls out of the air, startled. TYPHOON: What was that? GOLDENROD: That was my windmill slash. Like it? TYPHOON: No. GOLDENROD: (sarcastically) Gee thanks. (Not sarcastically) Oh, by the way, while you�re here� Goldenrod uses Axe Earthquake. Luckily for him, Typhoon is a good ways away from him. Typhoon takes 50 damage. Typhoon: 450/650 Goldenrod uses Paralysis Shock. Typhoon is hit. For a good 30 seconds he is unable to move. In this time Goldenrod uses Absorb and a few Lightning Bolts but they are very inaccurate so only one hits. Typhoon: 325/650 Goldenrod: 610/710 TYPHOON: GRRR! Typhoon flies into the sky and uses Psyclone. A tornado appears and Typhoon shoots dark energy into it. Typhoon takes 60 damage but it hits Goldenrod and he take a good 220 damage. GOLDENROD: Geez, that hurts! Typhoon: 265/650 Goldenrod: 390/710 TYPHOON: And to even it out some more� Typhoon uses a powerful Dark Gust. Goldenrod takes 90 damage. Goldenrod: 300/710 Goldenrod shoots a Lightning Bolt at Typhoon but Typhoon bends the air and uses his Wind Shield ability. The attack hits it and is destroyed. GOLDENROD: Grrr� The Wind Shield breaks up also. Goldenrod shoots another Paralysis Shock. TYPHOON: Just what I wanted! Typhoon uses Counter Breeze. The attack is blown back at Goldenrod. GOLDENROD: NO! The shock hits him. Goldenrod has paralyzed himself. Typhoon uses this advantage to use Shady Wind. Goldenrod takes 30 damage, but he also gets the ability Lightning Bolt disabled. Typhoon goes high into the air and shoots down at his highest speed. He extends his foot and hit s Goldenrod. Goldenrod takes a good 120 damage. The paralysis�s wears off. Goldenrod: 180/710 GOLDENROD: Ullll� TYPHOON: Now to end this! GOLDENROD: Huh? Goldenrod looks up just in time to see the Psyclone hurtling at him. Goldenrod is hit and loses all his HP. Goldenrod: 0/710 Typhoon: 205/650 Goldenrod is KO�d. Hammer�s voice comes over the loudspeaker. HAMMER: Testing, testing. Is this on? Okay, good, it is. Anyway, what a great battle! A close match! Good job, Typhoon! Halo tosses a Life Shroom down to Goldenrod. GOLDENROD: Boy, would I like a hero sandwich now� Goldenrod walks back to the contestants building. Halo takes over. HALO: The next match begins in three hours. I think you should get some rest, some popcorn, and train. I will see you then. The contestants go their separate ways, most of them looking for popcorn stalls. END OF TOURNAMENT OF WITS EPISODE 2 |
