Chapter 3
The "Invincible" Tubba Blubba
Back to the Main Page
The Forever Forest

Once you enter this dark and "scary" forest, you'll notice there are many paths to take.  There's only one true path to get to Boo's Mansion, and a certain "Player Guy Forever" has made a map at www.gamefaqs.com for your convenience.  You can access the map by
clicking here, but unless you want me to give you the directions which even I would get lost using, e-mail me at [email protected].

Once you make it out of the forest, you'll be treated to a short scene of Boo's Mansion.  Your party member will then talk to you about hating the Forever Forest.  Once finished, open the front gate and you will once again see Bootler, telling his master awaits on the third floor of the mansion with news about the Star Spirits.  Hit the Heart and Save Blocks infront and go through the front door.

Boo's Mansion

Go up the stairs and inside the room farthest to the right.  Open the middle closet on the left and a bunch of Boo's will come out.  Win their little game by hitting the Boo holding the Record last with your Hammer.  For winning, they'll "scare you" and you will receive the Record.  Now, go to the room on the same floor farthest to the left.  In the top left corner is an old record player.  Place the Record inside and tap A.  This will the attract the Boo to the right of the Music Box.  When he's dancing near you, have the gauge go to the middle and quickly press B.  Run to the right of the room and open the chest and find a Weight.

Go back to the first floor and find an orange couch.  Jump on it and you will notice it's a springboard.  Use the weight and you will notice a door has opened.  Go through that door.  Next, go down the stairs and through the next door.  Go through the door on your right.  Open the huge treasure chest inside and find another set of Boos that want you to play their game, but this time with Super Boots as the prize.  Smash through the wooden panel in the room with your new Spin Jump and you will be a room with a small blue switch.  Hit each switch three times (the last one requires a Spin Jump) and climb the stairs.  Go back to the first floor and go through the door farthest to the right.  Spin Jump through the wooden panel and fly to the right with Parakarry.  Collect the Boo's Portrait.  Fall off the bookshelf and Bomb the wall with Bombette to the left.  Now, go to the second floor and as far right as you can.  Place the Boo's Portrait in the empty picture frame.  He will then congratulate you on what you just did, and if you use him, you can access to the third floor.  "Talk" to him again and you will be on the third floor.  Go through the only doors and you will be taken into a scene with Lady Bow and her keeping a Star Spirit, saying if you destroy the "Invincible" Tubba Blubba, she will let the Star Spirit free.  Since you need every Star Spirit freed, you have to do what she wants, and she will then join your party.  Now, exit the mansion (unless you want to stock up at the shop you saw earlier first) and go right, through the gates to Gusty Gulch.

Gusty Gulch

The second you go through the gates, you will notice it's...sunny.  Nevermind that, so go right.  In the next scene, you will see a windmill.  If you look at the door, you can see it's locked.  Keep this in mind and go right.  As soon as you enter the next scene, you should be greeted by a Boo who says it's dangerous around Gusty Gulch, for Tubba Blubba could come at any moment!  Once you're done talking, if you haven't already, switch your partner to Bow.  Walk to the right and hit the Save Block.  Keep walking right from here (there's also a Heart block) until you are stopped by another Boo who's conversation with you gets cut short, for Tubba Blubba appears!  Press c-down to hide with Bow.  You'll then have a short cut-scene where you see Tubba Blubba eating the ghost you were talking to.  Poor thing.  Now, go through the right and be careful of monsters that are similar to the ones you saw at Mt. Rugged.  On the way to the right, you can pick up a Dizzy Dial by kicking Kooper, a Repel Gel in a ? Block, and even a Letter to Fice T.  Eventually, you'll come to a place where there's a ditch even Mario can't jump.  Use Parakarry to get across and still go right (and you can nab a Star Piece on your way too.  Let's see if you can find it...).  Eventually you'll reach the huge front doors of Tubba Blubba's Castle.  (By now, you should have the stats 25 HP, 25 FP, and 12 BP)

Tubba Blubba's Castle

When you first enter the castle, be sure to have Bow as your partner.  Now, walk to the left and through the door, using Bow's invisibility if you get spotted by one of Tubba Blubba's guards so you don't get caught.  In the next scene, you will see a napping Clubba.  You can either fight him for the Star Points or learn to walk by him slowly, making sure you don't wake him up.  Whatever you do, procced to the left.  Go through the door and into a room with a huge table.  Go through the northern door and down the stairs, careful not to be wake up the guards.  Spin Jump through the wooden panel at the base of the stairs and open the chest to find a Castle Key.  Go south, hit the Heart Block (you probably need one by now), through the door to the left, use the Super Block, up the stairs, and be in the same room with the oversized table.  Now, go back to the first room you were in when you entered the castle and go right, using your Castle Key.  Go right, up the stairs, and go all the way to the left door while avoiding more guards.  Open the door and walk to the left and through the other door.  In this next room, kill the napping Clubba and you will see he was guarding a crackable wall.  Break the wall with Bombette and Spin Jump the wooden panel in the upper right corner.  Now, fly to the left with Parakarry to get the extremely useful D-Down Jump Badge.  Once you've gotten it, go back to the room before the one with the wooden panels and walk to the left.  Go through the upper door and into a room with spikes!  Walk across the floor, turning invisible with Bow before the spikes come back to avoid damage.  Open the treasure chest to get another Castle Key.  Now go back through the door you came and open the door to the left.  Once again, use the door on the left which is guarded by a Clubba.  Through the next door, hit the yellow "?" block to get a Maple Syrup.  Walk up the stairs and through the door.  You'll hear something...Tubba Blubba!  He's coming right for you!  Walk a little forward and use Bow to turn invisible.  Make sure you pass right by him.  Now go to the right and open the door that isn't locked.  Walk past all the sleeping Clubbas to get a Castle Key (If you have it, the Slow Go Badge works well).  Now open the door you couldn't go through earlier and be sure to use the Heart Block and save...a boss battle is coming up!  Now go through the door on the right, across the hallway, and through another door which leads you into Tubba Blubba's room.  Walk all the way to the right and near the treasure chest.  Tubba Blubba's coming!  He'll then conveniently take a nap.  While he's snoozing, open the treasure chest to find Yakkey, who will wake up Tubba Blubba!

The Race to Windy Mill

Having the Speedy Spin Badge helps A LOT in this.  Run out of his room and start running to the left.  Tubba Blubba will then spot you and break the hallway!  Now you have no choice but to run to the right.  Go through many flights of stairs and hallways (notice all the guards are gone) to get out of Tubba Blubba's Castle!  Once you're out, a party of Boos will then hold Tubba Blubba in his castle.  With this, run through Gusty Gulch and to Windy Mill.  Use the Mystical Key and Spin Jump down the well.  Go all the way to the right (ignore the cheap signs and have Bow as your partner) and you will encounter...Tubba Blubba's secret...an invincibility heart!

Tubba's Heart

Cool battle music, huh?  Anyway, there aren't any big tricks to this battle.  All you need to do is keep attacking, turning invisible after he charges up for his attack, and healing when necessary.  Really, this battle shouldn't be too hard.

Once you're done with that, his heart will flee and try to find his body.  DON'T HEAL.  Once he gets out of the windmill, he regains with his body.  Bad sign.  Now you have to fight their combined power!

Tubba Blubba

Fight like usual.  I recommend using a Power Jump and a Smack Attack.  You'll then notice...he's KO'ed!  You must've weaked him earlier!  After that, he'll let free all the ghost he ate.  Because you did everything Bow wanted you to do, she frees the Star Spirit, Skolar.

As Princess Peach...

Once again, you are going to take control of Princess Peach.  Peach and Twink decide to eavesdrop again, so use the secret exit you oh so know and you will end up in Bowser's room...with Bowser and Kammy Koopa in it.  Uh oh.  You also hear them talking about the closest Star Spirit from where Mario is, at Shy Guy's Toybox.  Bowser rather stupidly uses Peach to find Mario's weaknesses.  Your job is to give fake answers, or else you'll have much harder times later on.  For Bowser's first question, answer with Mushroom.  For the second, say Thunder Rage.  The third and last answer is Super Soda.  Bowser will then send Peach back to her room.  Dang...

Back at Gusty Gulch

The scene changes back to Mario at Gusty Gulch.  Klevar has just been saved, so he rewards you with a block of Star Energy and his power called Star Storm (very powerful).  Once he returns back to Star Haven, walk to the left and to Boo's Mansion.  Hit the Save Block and go through the gates and into the Forever Forest.  Push the branch out of the way and hear...a certain sniveling.  Walk to the left and find it's...Jr. Troopa!  Man, he never gives up!  He challenges you to yet another duel.  He hasn't improved much from last time, just he grew some wings.  Use your jump attacks and Shell Shot to beat him.  Heal with items or Refresh if you really need to.  He then darns you again and runs off.  Sad.  Now, go through the path across from the one with the sign to Boo's Mansion.  Then go backwards to find yourself out of the Forever Forest (and Jr. Troopa found himself out too).  Now, walk back into Toad Town and find...it's under attack!  Walk around every part of town to see what's being stolen and try and clear up a few Shy Guys.  Once you have explored the town, go the scene with Harry's Shop (The shop near Tayce T.'s House) and inside the house on the far left.  It's completely empty.  Turn invisible with Bow and stay that way.  You'll see a Shy Guy come on and...use a secret passage!  Turn visible again and go through the passage.  Jump onto the Springboard and you'll start Chapter Four!
