| Not Another Teen Heartthrob! Before having cyber-sex with an impossibly pert Kirsten Dunst in last years pom-pom fest Bring It On, Jesse Bradford had done some pretty respectable acting work. (1995s Hackers, Steven Soderberghs King of the Hill and James Ivory's A Soliders Daughter Never Cries.) but it was his role as Cliff, arguably the hottest big brother in hollywood history, that landed Bradford in splashy teenybopper magazine spreads and on the right lists. 'I wasnt allowed to go to Oscar parties before, (Bring It On)' he recalls. 'That was like my debutant ball. My introduction to society. Nobody was ready to trust me with big box office until then.' They're raring now. Last fall Bradford appeared in Gus Van Sants 'Dancing at the Blue Iguana' this month he stars in the sci-fi flick clockstoppers and later this year Erika Christensen will stalk him in the fatal attraction knock off swimfan. In the mean time he's finishing up his bachelors degree in flim studies at Columbia University and trawling for work that might sever his ties from the cosmogirl crowd. 'I can still play high school but I'd rather not coz I'm 22.' he notes, 'I hope to exsit in both worlds, but eventually transcend the teen boom.' The bottom line? 'I don't want to do a movie that has lockers in it.' he says. ' I'll play an 18 year old high school senior but if I have to open a locker. No way! back to articles. |
