“So, I say we paint it this color.” Elisabeth said, setting down a paint chip. The two other girls took a look at the deep red color.
“I like it.” Peyton said.
Isabella gurgled in appreciation from where she sat in Katie’s lap. “It’s a deeper red, not a fire engine red. And we could use black as an accent color.” Elisabeth suggested.
“I might use it in my house.” Katie said. “I want everyone who helps with the remodel to sign the office doors. We had a spot at my old firm in LA where everyone signed. By the time I left, it had almost taken over the whole wall in the lounge.” She added.
“And we should do song lyrics on the wall in the lounge, like you had on your bedroom door growing up. You always had to repaint it to put new lyrics up.” Peyton tossed in an idea.
“And I was thinking, for the grand reopening, we should do a beach themed party and have the guys perform.” Katie suggested.
Peyton and Elisabeth looked at her in surprise. “Do you think they’ll go for it? I mean, I thought they had hung up their mics for good.” Elisabeth said, watching Katie squirm a little.
“Katie, you can’t force them into a career.” Peyton scolded.
“Do you really think they are totally fine being a P.E. teacher? Or a music teacher? Or a normal college student?” Katie asked.
“They’ve been leading a normal life for a year.” Elisabeth replied.
“But it wasn’t their choice!” Katie said.
“They all chose to stop touring. All three of them debated it for a month. You had to sleep in the extra bed in Joe or Nick’s room because Kevin couldn’t sleep because he kept debating. They had a thumb wrestling competition at one point to try and figure out what they were going to do.” Peyton reminded.
“But there were extenuating circumstance.” Katie shot back.
“What circumstances. You guys had been married for a month when they started debating it.” Elisabeth asked.
Katie took a deep breath. “I was pregnant.” She said.
“What?!?” Both girls asked, their mouth open in shock.
“I was pregnant. But, we lost the baby right before the guys started debating ending touring.” Katie explained.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Peyton asked. “Why didn’t the guys tell us?”
“The guys didn’t even know. It was just Kevin, Reggie and I who knew.” Katie said.
“How did Reggie know?” Elisabeth asked.
“He was at a concert and confronted Joe and I. Kevin came and it all just fell apart. I was pushed down the stairs, and lost the baby.” Katie said.
“You were having a honeymoon baby!” Peyton stated.
“Yeah, we were.” Katie answered.
“You dirty, dirty girl.” Peyton replied.
“Is that why you and Kevin waited so long to announce when you were pregnant with Bumble Bee? And why you were always being watched like a hawk while you were pregnant?” Elisabeth asked, as she started piecing things together in her head.
“And why after we moved here, you weren’t eating.” Peyton added.
“I just wasn’t dealing well with it. I had been so scared to tell Denise and Paul that we were pregnant because it was a honeymoon baby. And after the fall, I couldn’t bring myself to be all ‘Hey we were pregnant but now we aren’t’ to everyone. It felt too harsh.” Katie explained.
“Wow.” Peyton said. “I can’t believe that you and Kevin could have two kids at this point.”
“Well, we might be expecting one soon.” Katie said.
“Are you….” Elisabeth started as Katie quickly shook her head.
“No, but we are looking at having more.” Katie replied.
“Wow, you could have two kids before either of us gets married.” Peyton said.
“I don’t think we’ll be having one that soon.” Katie replied.
“Just you wait.” Both Peyton and Elisabeth warned.

“Okay, open your eyes.” Kevin said, leading Katie into the hotel room.
“I can’t, your hand is covering my eyes.” Katie replied.
“I’m sorry. But, this is the last month of tour. We will soon be back home and relaxing, and it’ll be just the two of us.” Kevin started to babble.
“Kevin, if you want me to see, you’ll need to move your hand.” Katie said, causing Kevin to slowly pull his hand away.
The lights were off and candles were placed around the room. The flames shed enough light to show them the room but still kept it dark enough to be romantic.
“This is beautiful.” Katie said, her eyes darting around the room.
“Well, it rained for most of our short honeymoon, so I figured we could celebrate being married tonight.” Kevin suggested.
“Kevin, we’ve been married a month.” Katie said.
“I know. But I didn’t get a chance to be all romantic then because of the rain and us being so burnt out because of tour. So, I’m doing it now.” Kevin explained.
“Well, I’m really going to kill your romantic kick then.” Katie replied.
“What do you mean?” Kevin asked.
“Kevin, we’re having a baby.” Katie said.
“Wait, we’re pregnant?” Kevin asked. As Katie nodded, his mouth fell open in surprise. He hugged her close and smiled. “We’re having a baby!”
“I went to the doctor the other day, to make sure. He called me earlier today to say it was positive.” Katie explained.
“I’m going to be a daddy,” Kevin said, jumping up and down from excitement.
“Yeah.” Katie said, a smile on her face and a few tears in her eyes.
“Oh my goodness.” Kevin said, as he stopped bouncing and wrapped his arms around Katie. “We’re having a baby.”
“We’re having a baby.” Katie replied.
“We have to go tell everyone!” Kevin started, as he grabbed her by the hand and started dragging her to the hotel room door. Katie stood her ground.
“Can we wait, just like a few days? I mean, just till we’ve all de-stressed from tour?” Katie suggested.
Kevin stopped pulling and raised an eyebrow. “Okay.” He said slowly, a little confused.
“We’ll make dinner, have a big family thing, and tell them then.” Katie suggested.
“You’re scared to tell my parents.” Kevin stated.
“No!” Katie stared, pretending to be offended by his accusation. “Okay, yeah I am.”
“What is there to be scared of?” Kevin asked.
“Kevin, this puts us getting pregnant on our wedding night. That means that our very first time ever having sex, we made a baby.” Katie said.
“You do know that my parents have figured that we’re having sex since we’ve gotten married.” Kevin replied, taking a seat on the bed.
“But, we’re having a baby. That’s like proof!” Katie retorted.
Kevin pulled Katie onto the bed next to him. “If you want to wait until after tour to tell everyone, we will wait until after tour.” He replied.
“Thank you.” Katie said, smiling.
“We’re gonna have a baby.” Kevin said, as Katie smiled bigger.
“You’ve already said that about a million times, but yes. We’re gonna have a baby.” Katie replied.
