Chapter 33
Allie was there when Aaron won his next gold medal- a team medal in a relay.
She, Jules and Nate sat next to Michael Phelps. The four cheered, clapped and
yelled as loud as they could during the race. They also made sure to clap loud
as Ian Crocker “redeemed” himself in the race. They sang along with the guys as
the national anthem played.
Allie was also there when Aaron graduated from University of
Texas in 2006. She showed up and surprised him, stopping the work on the gym
that she and Jules were working on opening. She even cancelled some of her
coaching to get things ready for his, Brendan and Ian’s joint graduation party.
And she was there, taking pictures with an instant Polaroid.
By the end of the night, pictures were stuck all over the place from where they
had stuck them throughout the party. Allie and Jules then took them and made
scrapbooks for the guys, along with signatures and well wishers from the night.
Allie was also there in the stands of the 2008 Olympics.
Jules, Nate and their daughter Bethany were next to her, cheering on Aaron. And
they were all there as Allie celebrated her 25th birthday with Aaron.
She was there the night Aaron proposed at one of their
favorite restaurants in Boston. They had flown out to visit family for a
reunion. Aaron had planned the entire night since they arrived in her hometown.
He planned dinner at a wonderful restaurant and they hung out in her front yard
for hours. They sat on her front porch, just talking over everything that now
was going to happen with the marriage.
Jules was there for the beautiful beach wedding in Aaron’s
hometown of Irvine, California. She stood next to Allie as her maid of honor,
while the girl who was being called the next Allie Haywood sat and watched her
coach get married.
