Chapter 28

Aaron raced into the gymnastics hall, excited to see that the all around was just starting to get underway. He found Nate and followed him to their seats. “You talked to Jules yet to see how Allie’s doing?” Aaron asked.
“Allie is a little nervous but ready to go. She’s in the red leotard down there at the sidelines.” Nate said, pointing the brunette out.
“The only events we really need to be worried about with her are the vault and uneven bars, right?” Aaron asked, looking at Nate.
“The uneven bars are her worst event. She’s quite scared of heights and sometimes it gets to her. She had a meltdown at a meet once and couldn’t finish.” Nate said.
“I remember her telling me about that.” Aaron said, watching Allie fidget on the sidelines.
Allie looked over her shoulder, looking at the crowd. She was surprised at all the faces in the hall. Some were Olympians, some were friends and family. She found her parents and a couple of her siblings. She kept scanning until she saw Nate and Aaron. Nate waved and made a face, making her laugh. Aaron smiled and gave her a simple thumbs-up.
She turned back around in her chair and continued to fidget. She hated waiting.
