Miley stood at her spot on the
stage, her cowgirl hat pulled down as she stared at the floor.
Lily was next to her, giggling a little at the cheers. Kelly
and two girls from the high school were sitting at the table on the other side
of the stage.
The music started playing, and Miley adjusted her hat and
watched the guys start to come out dancing.
Miley and the girls joined in, at least until Miley did a
turn. She was suppose to come face to face with JC but ended up coming face to
face with a slightly taller dance partner.
“Keep dancing.” Justin said, as Miley nodded. She kept
dancing the routine, watching Justin every once and awhile.
When the song started in one the bridge, where it was talking
about the cowboy reputation, Justin started to add in a couple extra moves to
build up to a certain line.
The song claimed ‘And we made love’. Justin spun Miley like
he was suppose to. When she spun and faced him, he pulled her right up to him
and kissed her passionately.
Miley stumbled a little, hearing the cheers from the audience
about the kiss. She stumbled a few steps as the song continued. And it finished,
she quickly walked back stage.
She grabbed her water bottle and took a seat on the edge of
the steps. “You okay?” Lily asked, walking over.
“Yeah. I’m just kinda tired.” Miley replied.
“Well, getting kissed like that must have worn you out.” Lily
joked.
“Lily…” Miley started.
“You can take him back, you know.” Lily said.
“No I can’t. The whole situation is just crazy and trashed
and weird now.” Miley said.
“Girlie, he loves you and you love him. Nothing is ever too
crazy and weird to mess with that.” Lily replied.
Miley took a sip of her water as Lily walked off. The last
sentence she had said kept bouncing around in Miley’s head. She turned to set
her water bottle down and saw her wedding ring sitting next to her.
She set the bottle down and picked up the ring, looking it
over. A light picked up an engraving on the inside of the band. Miley ran her
finger over it, reading it. “Justin Randall and Melinda Grace Timberlake.” She
whispered.
Miley felt tears in her eyes. She grabbed her bottle and
quickly stood up. She looked around and spotted Justin. “Justin!” She called as
she went running over to him.
“Miley?” Justin asked, surprised.
“Can I still kiss the rain?” Miley asked. “Anytime that I
need you or wish you were with me, can I still kiss the rain?” Miley asked.
“You don’t have to. I’ll always be there.” Justin replied.
“Always?” Miley asked, showing him her ring. Justin took it
and slid it on her finger.
“Always.” Justin replied.

“Mindy!” Miley heard her name being called and turned,
surprised to see Ryan coming over.
“Ryan, what are you doing here?” Miley asked, feeling Justin
tighten his grip on her hand.
“After you told off Teresa, Tara mentioned something about
this being your hometown. I decided to come and visit and heard about this
benefit concert. So, I came back and was rather surprised with a group of guys
singing.” Ryan said.
“Justin, this is Ryan. Ryan, this is my husband Justin” Miley
quickly said, watching Justin look the guy over and then stick his hand out for
Ryan to shake.
“No hard feelings about trying to steal your wife? I mean, it
looks like the better man won anyways.” Ryan said, shaking his hand.
“Took a bit, but yeah, the better man won.” Justin replied.
“Ryan actually works for Transcontinental Records and Lou Perlman. You
know, the guy who put the Backstreet Boys on the map?” Miley said.
“We actually are looking for a new group, and I think I may
have found it.” Ryan said. “Justin, you and your friends were amazing.”
“Why thank you.” Justin said.
“I would love to sign you to Transcontinental.” Ryan said, as both Miley
and Justin’s mouths dropped open.
“GUYS!” Miley yelled.
