Friday and Saturday night of
the concert had been a huge success. They hadn’t charged anything to watch the
show, but had places set up where people could donate money to the cause.
People had though JC had made an excellent Corny Collins, and
loved Justin playing Link Larkin and Danny Zuko. Everyone had laughed when Joey
came out in drag to play Mrs. Turnblad.
Miley had been in her customary watching spot, drinking down
water. Her doctor had warned her to not become dehydrated and that drinking
plenty of water should keep the pain away.
She stood backstage at that moment, playing with the wig she
had worn as Penny. “So, the only critique I have heard was that there were some
people wanting to know when in the ‘Grease’ timeline that Sandy had gotten
pregnant.” Lily said, coming backstage and joining Miley.
“When we started it, I wasn’t pregnant.” Miley said.
“When we started this, you two were in love.” Lily added.
“We are not starting that debate. The love between Danny and
Sandy was just an act.” Miley shot back.
“Pretty convincing act is you ask me.” Lynn Harless, Justin’s
mother, said as she stepped behind the curtains.
“Lynn.” Miley said, greeting the lady.
“There’s a guy out here looking for you, Miley.” Lynn said.
“A Mr. Stewart.”
Miley’s mouth dropped open. “Bring him on back here.” She
quickly said, watching Lynn disappear.
“Mrs. Timberlake!” Mrs. Stewart called, pushing past the guys
as they and Kelly came backstage.
“You have the papers.” Miley replied. “It’s officially Hart.”
“I do have the papers, but it’s not Hart.” Mr. Stewart said,
as Kelly came over, and the guys pretended not to be listening.
“How is it not Hart?” Miley asked. “He finally signed the
papers.” She added, pointing at Justin.
“Just remind me once more of that fact, why don’t ya.” Justin
added.
“He signed.” Mr. Stewart said, coming over to Miley and
showing her the divorce papers. “You didn’t.”
Miley’s mouth dropped open and a few gasps were heard. “If
this relationship wasn’t enough of a ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ rip off.” Lily said.
“Who has a pen?” Miley quickly asked.
“Miley!” Lynn called, causing Miley to turn. She didn’t even
know Lynn had come back behind the curtain again.
Lynn held out a pen. Miley quickly walked over to her as Lynn
handed it over. “Miles, not to make this even more of a repeat of that movie,
but things like this usually happen for a reason.;” Lynn whispered, as Miley bit
her bottom lip.
“I need a moment.’ Miley quickly said.
