Miley hated driving in the city. Honestly, she hated driving all together. But, she had received the call and had to go see what her lawyer wanted.
The sunlight gleamed off the gold band sitting in the passenger seat. That damn ring had kept appearing randomly. For the past two months, it would just appear when she really didn’t want to see it.
Especially as the house had become grand central station the closer it came to show time. The girls helped her work out kinks in choreography. She avoided going to practice, and if she did, she staid in the back to watch.
Her phone rang, causing her to jump a little and break herself out of her thinking. “Hello?” She answered once she regained control.
“We have a crisis.” Lily said.
“What kind of a crisis?” Miley asked.
“Our Penny Pingleton is sick.” Lily answered.
“What!?! She can’t be sick. We have no one who can fill that spot in such a short notice.” Miley replied.
“Well, we actually do.” Lily said.
“I can’t play Penny.” Miley replied.
“Miles, you know the steps, you know all the notes to sing, and all the words. No one else but you can fill in.” Lily explained. “I already talked to our Seaweed, and he’s willing to help you out.”
“I’m going to have to fill in a lot. She was in two other songs that I can think of off the top of my head.” Miley said, sighing.
“We’re calling an emergency practice. Do you think you can make it to the gym?” Lily asked.
“It’ll take an hour or so but I’ll speed.” Miley said, making a quick U-turn. She ignored the horns honking behind her. “I’ll see you then.”
Miley quickly hung up the call to Lily and then dialed another number. “Something came up and I can’t meet with Mr. Stewart. He can reach me at this number if he has any questions.” She said.
Miley hung up her phone and looked at the gold band. “You happy? I have to face him.” She asked.
She knew that if that stupid ring could smile, it would have one hell of a smirk on it’s face.

“Let’s run through that again.” Miley said, rubbing her face with her hands.
The group was running through all of Penny’s songs, making sure Miley was okay with the steps.
They were currently running through ‘Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy’ by Big and Rich for Sunday’s part of the show.
Each of the three days of the show had a specific theme. The carnival started Friday after school, which had been dubbed ‘Musical Day’. Saturday and Sunday were all day events, with Saturday being ‘Decade Day’. They had all agreed that it would all pretty much be pop music. Sunday was Country Day, which was where ‘Save A Horse’ fit in.
Miley and JC were dancing together for that song. Lily was standing off to the side, counting and letting someone else stand in for her for a second.
“We need just a little more pop in it for you. I mean, to still make it visually appealing.” Chris suggested.
“The problem is we don’t really have time to totally redo the choreography.” Miley said.
“Well, run through it real quick.” JC suggested. “Justin, come step in for me a second.”
Justin slowly moved over as Lily started the music over. As the song started, Lily counted while Miley and Miley danced. JC stood off, watching.
Miley suddenly stopped, holding her stomach. “You okay?” Lily asked, watching Miley shake her head.

“Miley Hart.” Miley said, as she walked up to the check-in desk. “I was the one who called.”
“Yes, we have someone waiting for you in Room7.” The nurse said.
“I’ll go with her.” Justin said, as JC and Lily went to step back.
“NO!” Miley quickly said, grabbing Lily by the arm.
“What relation to the baby and Miss Hart are you?” The nurse asked.
“I’m the baby’s father.” Justin said.
“And my ex-husband.” Miley added. “I don’t want him in there with me.” She said, feeling another pain run through her body.
“Sir, we have to respect her wishes.” The nurse said
    “I understand.” Justin said.
“I’ll keep you informed.” Lily said, as an orderly pulled a wheelchair over to them. Lily and the orderly helped Miley sit down and then Lily pushed the chair off.
Justin took a seat in a chair in the waiting room, facing JC. After a few seconds, Justin started to cry.
