“I’m switching schools.” Miley said, setting her lunch tray down by Kelsi.
“It’s only the first day.” Kelsi said, chuckling a little.
“My English teacher expects trouble from David and me while my Chemistry teacher expects Joe and me to burn down the lab.” Miley said.
“You’re taking Chemistry? You could barely pass algebra 1.” Kelsi replied.
“Anyone else want to poke fun at me? Yes, I’m taking Chemistry!” Miley said, flopping into her seat.
“Have you found out anything about Kevin?” Kelsi asked, as Miley groaned.
“No. Everyone’s watching over me like a hawk. They’re all scared I’ve got deviled eggs that I’ll just start throwing randomly.” Miley replied.
“Everyone still talking about the food fight?” Kelsi asked.
“It’s the hottest topic other than what Tessa
plans for revenge for the noodles.” Miley explained.
“Ah, don’t sweat Tessa.” Kelsi said, looking at the lunch line.

Kevin is coming this way!”
“Oh crap.” Miley said, quickly busying herself with her lunch tray.
“Hey Kelsi, Miley.” Kevin said, as he sat down at the lunch table.
“Hey Kevin.” Kelsi said, looking at Miley. “So, have you heard any of the gossip?” She asked as Joe and David sat down.
“That the food fight was really a prank to embarrass Tessa?” David asked.
“Or that Tessa was trying to steal Kevin away from Miley, who has been secretly dating him since we were five?” Joe asked, tossing a wink at Miley. In response, she stuck her tongue out at him.
“That’s very interesting, because Miley told me…” Kelsi started to say as Miley quickly covered Kelsi’s mouth.
“That P.E. classes suck. I mean, I am not he best at sports. Why make me spend an entire year proving it to the school?” Miley interrupted.
“What does that have to do with the gossip of the food fight?” David asked.
“Yeah Miley.” Kelsi said, peeling Miley’s hand off of her mouth. “What does that have to do with the food fight?”
Miley looked around the table, a knot growing in her stomach. She felt it slowly grow up her throat, causing her to speed from the lunch table and go straight to the girl’s bathroom.
